The inspiration, for me, is several-fold...is that a word? The amount of weight you lost is certainly part of it, but your keeping it off means more. I'm just beginning to understand what a real feat it's going to be to keep it off. From reading your story and from the interview with Y, the way you turned your life around and stepped up to take responsibility for raising your niece and nephews(?). You've not only shown guts but strength of character. It take a big man to do that...and I don't mean physically! Your honesty, not only with us but to yourself. And last but not least, is your caring enough about the rest of us to open yourself wide and share the bad as well as the good.

So whether you understand or not, you've been a huge inspiration to me.

I am sitting here at work fighting back tears reading this because I never looked at myself that way.. I have always been Ramon.. I just try to be good and that is all..  It is the good country raising..  LOL

Some people would say I the one that mama warned you about.. I have to say that my favorite line from my show on TLC was that "I am not perfect, I never claimed to be.. But I know I am not the worst person in the world.. I just want to be good that's all." and it is so true.. Thanks for the kind words..

Ramon...know that you are an inspiration to all of us.  Knowing someone who is beating the demons and succeeding helps us all to believe we can make it.  Showing us your human side allows us not to beat ourselves up so much when we don't meet our own expectations exactly when and how we envisioned them.  You teach us all that this is a journey with both smooth and bumpy highways, but still a journey worth traveling.
