The NIGH****CHMAN - Monday 7/6
Got to work at my part time job and the air was out in two of the 6 rooms we work out of. Repairman just stopped in to say it is a blowin' and a goin' now.
No change in Oleta's mother.
Not much else here.
Prayer requests are listed below.
Also, please feel free to just visit here. Tell us about how your day went. Your successes. Your failures. Your fun. Whatever. When I post this thread, I do not have access to any chat programs, so this sometimes substitute as that vessel for me.
Continue to keep your thoughts and prayers for the members of our Armed Forces serving around the world, especially during this time of increased awareness. Please thank God for these men and women every day. In addition, please keep the wives and family members in your thoughts.

I'm exhausted. Took Michael to the airport at 4:30am, got back home around 5:10, couldn't fall back asleep so I did all of my job search stuff. I was pleasantly surprised to find 4 really great opportunities out there. Usually the week after a holiday weekend is slow. Finally around 7, I started getting sleepy again, so I napped until 9:30. Got up, finished my job apps, made arrangements for a place to stay next week Tuesday and Wednesday nights, and put together a strategy to get more interviews scheduled during the trip.
At noon, I shifted gears to start working on the house again. I must've been lucky with the downstairs closets going so quickly last week, because working in the upstairs closets drove me insane. I spent 7 hours on the upstairs guest room (gift closet) and the dogs' room closet (Christmas tree, gift wrap and box storage). I got a start on mine late tonight (after 9pm), but still have a lot to do in there. So far, I've got two large shopping bags of books for 1/2 Price, at least a car load of stuff to take to Goodwill and a lot of stuff to go onto Craigslist. The upstairs media room is trashed with piles of stuff to be cataloged and then dropped off at Goodwill.
The realtor is scheduled to be here at 1pm tomorrow to make sure the house is ready to show and make recommendations on if I need to impersonalize it more. I almost feel like calling her in the morning and delaying her a day or two. I'll see what I get done by 10am and then make a decision on whether or not to have her come by. If she comes, I seriously just want her to give me a list of personal items that she recommends get packed and then leave. I don't want her sticking around to "check my work".
It's been a frustrating day. I feel like I ended up with a bigger mess than I started with and I hate that. I was running low on energy part way through the day and did a B12 shot in hopes of giving me a boost. I don't really feel like it worked. So, I guess, I'm just netting out cranky tonight.
We had a great weekend in McKinney. Thursday night, we caught The Hangover. I'm pretty sure it was the funniest movie I've ever seen. Friday, Michael and I went and looked at rental homes. There's a lot of options in the price range we're comfortable renting in, so that was good. We can't really make a decision on anything until the house here sells, but there were at least 7 homes that would work for us so hopefully one of them is still available when we're ready. We drove down to Komen so I'd know where I'm going next week. Friday afternoon, a bunch of us girls went and got pedis and then Sara and I made a quick appearance at Dani's going away dinner. Saturday was crazy party day and yesterday, we drove home.
I'll be around for a bit. Prayers for all who need them.
253 / 140 (below goal)
If I were lying, wouldn't my pants be on fire?!?
Got to spend some peep time at Sarbucks tonight, Danni, wishing you God speed, and safe travels just in case I don't get to see you again before you leave.
Prayers for all of the spoken and unspoken requests. Congrats to Nina on the new job, another prayer answered. Continued prayers for Oleta and extended family, and all of God's children tonight.
Blessings to all,
Avis
Had a fairly "lazy" day here. No tennis on Mondays so we didn't have to go in for that. Sarah did have a doctor appt. with the plastic surgeon *****moved the huge "nevus" she had along her neck a few years ago. Unfortunately more of that diseased tissue is still under the surface and a new "crop" has started to come out. We knew it though as he just couldn't get all of it out a few years ago when she initially had the surgery. He said it will take three or so years for it to fully come out so he'll go back in there later on and only put her through one more surgery but that won't be until she's 11 or 12 more than likely!
It warmed up though, now back in the 80s which is more "summer-like" in temps! Right now at 2 am it's down to 67 degrees which is delightful!!!
I slept in until 10:30 am yesterday which was pure heaven. Since I'm still up, more than likely will be the same in the morning!
Guess I'd better get moving. Time to get everything shut down and hit the hay!
