Husband's place of business is going bankrupt

We knew it was coming, but kept hoping a miracle would occur. The service manager cleaned out his office tomorrow and his last day is tomorrow. Husband has not been told anything yet, but we figure it will be Friday.
At least he will get unemployment and we can count on that check being on time. (He has not gotten a full paycheck for the past 2 months and the partial checks have been short at times too!)

As my mother always said, what does not kill you will only make you stronger. (Except she was not thinking about both of us being unemployed and being at home together 24/7....)

Of course - it could be worse - our home is totally paid for - so we don't have to worry about that ****il tax time). And I know we are not as bad off as many in the world right now.

Hopefully the TWC will be faster on starting to pay on your husband's benefits than they were on mine. It took over 2 months from the day I was approved for benefits for me to actually start receiving money.

Well, it's important to know wheher the employer is filing for Chapter 11 or Chapter 13 bankruptcy.   The co. may be technically "re-organizing", and will start doing business again under another name (or through a new owner) later on, in which case they may invite your husband to come back to work for them again (if he wants to).       A lot of times a co. comes back with their act better together after filing for reorganization than before.  That's the plan with GM, at least!   

  If, on the other hand, it truly is a liquidation, then I guess enjoy the unemployment until something better comes along ..   

Anne so sorry to hear this.  It's so sad that so many are struggling in this depressed economy.  Prayers that at LEAST one of you will find something soon.
