Monday WLS Express
Hello and good morning Texas,
Wow! I've never seen a purple train before. Good job driving, Laura. I'm never going to be up early enough to drive a GREEN train, so I'll just enjoy this purple ride.
I've got my laundry started. For some reason I have tons of it this week. It will definitely take all day.
Other than that, I'm going to try again today to get something going in my job search. I just can't really find many opportunities that seem right for me. I'm hoping to get signed up with a temp agency. If I could just work 2-3 days a week it would be adequate for us. I don't need nor want to work full time ever again. I don't need benefits, just enough money to buy groceries and have a little spending money. I'm sure the right opportunity will come along eventually.
In the meantime, I'm keeping busy at home and trying to do some of those things I always wanted to do but never had time when I was working.
Make it a great day ... make good choices.

WOW! My whole weekend was just one big WOW!!
Headed out Friday morning and hit NYC around 9am. Met up with friends for lunch and a drink (may or may not have turned into many drinks ;) great time catching up on life. Heard too many times "you're too skinny! You need to STOP losing weight" yada, yada, yada. Gave them my usual "I am close to my surgeon's predicted weight after surgery, but still 11-15 lbs from being in the "normal" range on the BMI charts" speech.
NYC - just crazy. Friday night was the craziest I've ever seen as far as people and vehicles being in a single location. Those New Yorkers ain't scared of a car for sure .... if they only knew King was behind the wheel they might have been a tad bit uneasy! LOL
Saturday we got out fairly early and enjoyed the city and a nice carriage ride through Central Park, lunch at Mickey Mantle's and a stroll down 5th Avenue. King, the big shopper he is, says "you want to go in and get you a Louis Vuitton purse or something?" .... bless his little heart. I should've said heck yeah! After that we got in the car for a leisurely drive down The Garden State Parkway to Atlantic City - again crazy traffic - everyone and their neighbors must've been headed for The Jersey Shore for fireworks. We played a few slots at a couple of casinos killing time, then found a primo fireworks watching spot (pics up on FB via a link to PhotoBucket) and I think there are some that are actually uploaded from my phone.
Sunday - we lunched in Delaware. Some local little favorite hamburger joint, but their speciality is ice cream sundaes. They have one on their menu that has TWENTY scoops of ice cream, plus every topping known to man! Unbelievable. We ordered a single hot fudge sundae to share and it would've easily been enough for four people. Dropped him off at the airport early because he's paranoid after missing a flight last year!
I finally got my paycheck delivered to me today, so that worry is over - at least until the next payday which should be a direct deposit, we shall see.
This day is dragging by, as I'm sure the week will as a whole. It usually seems that way when I don't go home for a weekend, plus looking forward to Saturday and seeing everyone at Steph and Clay's!!
Better get back to the grindstone and knock out some work!
