OT: Different kinda 4th than usual...
The girls and I are up here in central Illinois at my parents' and it has been quite the odd few days. I'm sitting here FREEZING! All of us have been pilfering through my mom and sister's sweatshirts this week because it has been in the 50's and low 60's with the wind blowing. Today, of all days, it rained most of the day. So many people around town were disappointed as it ruined their picnics and get-togethers. The rain finally quit around 7 pm or so but it's windy. Thankfully the rain stopped in time for the big fireworks display. My parents live just outside of town so it's nice and dark way out here in the country making the fireworks really easy to see out here. The adjacent cities here do a fireworks display at two large parks (the parks are at opposite ends of each city) that are syncronized to music. Really cool. So, we go out to the main road and pull off to the side (a lot of people do it too since it's soooo pretty to see with it being so dark out there) to watch. By the time we got home, our noses were bright red and ears were FROZEN! The two older girls and I just walked in the door and started laughing. Of course, just talked to hubby and he was like, "uh, wanna share some of that cool weather with us"? I told him I really wished I could shoo some towards Texas!!! 60 degrees, windy and damp is cold! Of course, tomorrow it is supposed to be nice and sunny with temps back in the upper 70's to low 80's. Figures.
Despite the cold, it was a good time.

For some STRANGE reason my hub wanted to walk in our downtown area Friday afternoon. Our truck was registering the temp as 108!! Ugh, right now I wouldnt mind some C-O-L-D...but just a little...
Have fun!
Hugs,
Monica

U tell me that I sin,
U say Im bound for hell,
So once ur judgment condemns U,
I SHALL SEE U THERE.
I'd rather be an OPEN sinner
than a FALSE saint...
I hear you loud and clear, Jill. We were in Atlantic City and with that breeze coming off the ocean, I was sure wishing I had a hoodie once the sun went down!
I'm quite comfortable outside here in PA where it's in the low 80's, but everyone that lives here is "burning up it's soooo hot"! LOL I told them to come home with me this weekend if they want some hot weather!
