Good Morning OH Family!

Enjoying the slow rain this morning and 75 degrees.

Hope everyone had a wonderful and safe 4th. We did absolutely nothing except Wally World which was kinda nice. I watched the movie Medea goes to jail.I love Tyler Perry Medea movies! too funny. Summer wanted me to go watch the fireworks at Winstar but did not want to mess with the crowds and heat. Normally I would just go even if I did not want to.Proud of myself for saying no. Going to babysit Allie today while Chad and Mandy go to a concert.He wanted me to keep her all night but said no, because want to be ready for my interview tomorrow.(I'm getting a little better about telling my kiddos no)Well better jump in the shower.

Good morning from the SLUG of Joshua!!! I had intended to "lay down and read my book for a minute" last night..and didn't get up until until 13 HOURS later....sorry for BRAGGING, all you insomniatics, but I guess my weird schedule, and a couple of days of sun caught up with me...my reading glasses never even fell off!!

I've had a great holiday weekend. Friday night we went an annual party some long time friends have. They just built a monstrous new house (happy for them...sigh...kinda jealous fo me...sigh..) and like to spend an ungodly amt of $$$ each year on fireworks, etc...I hate fireworks...one shift in the ER on the 4th of July will cure you of ever handling fireworks again...trust me on this one)...anyhoo....had been at the waterpark furing the day, after working tough shift Thursday night, so wasn't PLANNING on stayng late..but you know how PLANS go....

Got up yesterday and made it to RNS on time...sooooooooo great to get loves and (((hugs)))...MEGGIE wins "Best Dresses"...as always!!...In the afternoon we went to KRIS and CHRIS's house for more food and sun..Had planned to go see the "local" fireworks show at our big new JOSHUA HIGH SCHOOL STADIUM (Go Owls!!)..but..well..already told you about that lil nap I took....

Our church isn't having a service this morning, so I'm doing laundry instead, and just piddling around...DID get that book finished though...just LOVE Dean Koontz...it was one of his old ones...have a 9 year old's bday party at 2pm...then back to work tonight with that pt's family from hell who hated/fired everyone, but has requested ME back...go figure...probably cuz I'm mean as they are...

Gotta squeeze some WALLY WORLD IN SOMEWHERE TODAY TO "STOCK" FOR THE WEEK SO BECKY AND DANNI WON'T YELL AT ME..

Hope everyone has a peaceful, HEALTHY day...I Love y'all more than I can ever tell you on a message board...

Hopping on the train at almost noon. Already home from church and finished a late breakfast. We had a quiet Independence Day. Did a little mending in the morning and made DH clean out a big stack of papers that has been building up for weeks. Went out and ran some errands and then just came home and ate pizza while we watched fireworks on TV. Not quite the same, but air conditioned and not crowded.

I did find a place in the neighborhood to get SF snow cones. They have strawberry and blue coconut. Yummy. I sure wish they had the wedding cake flavor in SF.

We decided last night that next year we're going to try to go to Boston for the 4th. I've always wanted to go there for the Boston Pops and fireworks show. Next year we're going to actually make and effort to finally do it.

Expecting today to be another quiet day. I'm going to grill a couple of steaks for dinner and I have some fresh zucchini that I need to cook. I may also make some Lemon Pecan cookies this afternoon. If I can get the lead out.

It rained here most of the day on the 4th, but took Heather out to do some driving. Paul thought I was nuts since it was raining, but uhm, it DOES rain from time to time in Texas so she'll need to know how to drive in the rain. It wasn't a hard rain anyway. I took her to a good sized parking lot and we drove back and forth through all aisles of the parking lot a gazillion times! I also had her attempt to park into a parking slot, the fine art of backing out, and just basically keeping on her own side! Paul had only taken her out a couple times before we left and told me it was awful so I was expecting a terrible time. She really didn't do too bad. She did make mistakes, but hey, that's the whole point of practice. She did well enough to drive home and didn't do too bad. Hubby couldn't believe that I actually let her drive home, too. Each day that I take her out I'll add another component and hopefully in a couple weeks of doing that, I'll let her out with the "real" people!

Today is supposed to get warmer which will be nice. Low 80s here today. We went to church and Sarah went to SS so I got my SBUX while she was there. Gotta get my tea in, regardless of how cool the weather is! Hope everyone has a great day. Don't forget your vitamins!!!

Is the train still puttering around this late?? I'll say it quietly so as not to jinx myself, but I'm feeling a tiny bit better. When I got up this morning I thought I might have to take an extra day off work tomorrow, but now I'm actually feeling a little more human. Still hurting when I walk around or stand up for any length of time, but sitting down isn't as bad as it was. Baby steps.

I had a fantastic day yesterday, really enjoyed hanging out at the in laws with family and friends, and then got to watch 4 fireworks shows from my balcony! Of course they were far away on the horizon, but it was still cool. Today I've just been resting, working on cross stitch and watching Babylon 5. Jeff just went out to the store since we both wanted something for dinner that we didn't have here. He's being such a sweetie, running errands, walking the dogs, doing laundry and he'll have to fix dinner tonight. I'm certainly blessed to have him in my life.

My plan tomorrow is to go in to work in the am, Jeff will drive me, then call either my MIL or Danni to pick me up when I get too tired. I can do some work from home, but there are a few things I can't get access to from here so I'll do those first tomorrow.
