Does drinking coffee regularly and throughout the day stop or slow down weight loss? What's your take and your experience with drinking coffee (with non-dairy creamer, and splenda packets...)

I only drink decaf because that is what I had been told to do. if you drink regular you cannot count it as watercause it is a natural diuretic! Now, that is just what I was taught, not all Docs na dothers agree with this. Caffeine now gives me horrible shakes and a huge crash so it is easier to stay away from it!! I like it iced w/6 splenda!!

Meggie,  let me get this straight  If I drink the decafe then I can count that as my 'water' intake as opposed to drinking an additional 32 oz of water each day to my original 100oz per day to make up for the regular coffee I drink?... I might be liking this suggestion! 

I usually do not drink coffee but for some reason the past 2-3 months I am a coffe-oholic!! I drink it like it's going out of style, but I've been more crabby I think lately, not sure if that is the stress in my life or the coffee.

Thats what I understand! And yes, caffeine can make you crabby. It use to cause me mood swings if I had too much and I have been much mellower without it!!!

Hmmm, coffee.  I am a junkie and drink at least 6 cups a day ~ with Splenda and fat free half and half.  I have read studies that say that caffeine helps with weight loss.  I don't really have an opinion, one way or another.

I just know that I ain't giving it up.

Sharon or who now shall be called, "CO-COFFEE QUEEN".....

I've only recently last 2-3 months been a coffee drink, now  I must have it. However, when I drink it I am more crabby... I can see what is true in the room about myself when I am a crab! LOL.

I'm trying to figure out if that is causing my weight loss stall-- been in for a least 10 months... The scale numbers have not moved, but my inches are chaning. And, if ANYONE tells me it's because "muscle" weighs more then "fat" I will just scream! Yes, I have been working out with a personal trainer since October, regiously as some will say. I have even modify my eating habits this one last month for 36 days I ate NO "carbs" other than fruit carbs and the scale did not MOVE at all.

I'm trying to tweak within my diet what could be the reason... Coffee, I was wondering...  

Keep on drinking the stuff if it is aiding in the wls!!

I believe it interfers with calcium absorbtion.

I'm claiming myself Coffee Queen, well I'll share it with Sharyn, we'll be Co-Coffee Queens because both of us drink way to much of the stuff I know but dang it's good.  I drink anywhere from 6-8 cups a day, full leaded.  Large cups of probably 12 or so oz each.

We are SUPPOSE to drink water in addition to the coffee but I don't.  Yeah I'm guilty of not drinking enough water, I do believe I'm less likely to dehydrate then some because I've never dehydrated myself since WLS.  I can tell though when I need to force water in me, like today we were outside all day and I did drink 4 bottles of water, I was thirsty.

I use non-dairy creamer and 2 Splenda packets and when I get the chance I drink a McDonalds Ice Coffee too.

Oop**** submit to quickly......Jessica when I drink allot of coffee I tend to eat less which is good when I want to eat all day but not good when I don't want to eat.  I know those days I don't eat much my protein intake isn't enough.

I have heard others say coffee makes them eat more so I guess it depends on the person.

 I have one cup a day... now granted that one cup is 32 ounces lol  non-dairy creamer and sweet-n-low  
I have to limit myself or I will drink it ALL DAY.  I'm not supposed to be drinking it unless it's ... yeah well I don't always listen... I'd rather not have the migranes so I keep the coffee =)

Yeah I drink a bit too much coffee as well and it has not slowed down my weight loss (if it has I haven't noticed) ... but I certainly love me some sumatra or starbucks extra hot skinny latte's ....
Oh and I take mine with creamer no sweetner.
