Anyone ever have their stomach removed because of an ulcer?

I think I remember seeing a post one time from a woman that had to have her stomach removed because of an ulcer that wouldn't heal.  I'm trying to find out more info about it and was wondering if anyone remembers who she was.

 Thanks

Tami.....I know nothing about that but when I was a little girl....my dad had to have 3/4 of his stomach removed due to a ulcerated stomach !!!!   Not sure if they still do that anymore though.    Dr. Kim's support group is tonight if you want to go at 6:30.

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

Don't know her, but it's quite possible to live w/o a stomach, to which many stomach cancer victims can attest.   I remember a bunch of family members in the news recently that opted to have their stomachs prophylactically removed, b/c their genetic testing revealed they had a very high likelihood of developing stomach cancer later in life ..    (and often it comes too quickly and silently to not be terminal) ..
