The NIGH****CHMAN - Sunday - 6/28

Another broken up day for me.  Slept 3 hours this morning.  Then my son called and said he was ready to go move the furniture I bought.  So I got up and we moved everything.  Took about 3 hours because he had to stop at work.  Then I went back to bed.  Slept for 2 hours before he called me again.  It was so senseless, I can't even remember what he called about.  Couldn't go back to sleep.  Watched a little tv with Mary, now I am going to try to take a one hour nap.  I will be back later.

Prayer requests are listed below.

Also, please feel free to just visit here.  Tell us about how your day went.  Your successes.  Your failures.  Your fun.  Whatever.  When I post this thread, I do not have access to any chat programs, so this sometimes substitute as that vessel for me.

Continue to keep your thoughts and prayers for the members of our Armed Forces serving around the world, especially during this time of increased awareness.  Please thank God for these men and women every day.  In addition, please keep the wives and family members in your thoughts.

We missed church this morning as I did not get to bed until 6:30 AM.

Find a church you are comfortable in.  There are lots of them out there.

Evening George;

Sorry you had a disjointed day. Hopefully you were able to get a nap in.

We finally put our bedroom back together today, ran some errands, grocery shopped, and tried to relax a little. We stopped at the mail box on the way home (I hadn't gone by there yesterday) from the grocery and I had a letter from Texas Workforce Commission that they were finally processing my benefits.

After getting the car unloaded and the groceries put away, I logged into my TWC account and not only did they start processing my benefits on Friday, they're paying me for everything since 5/1 which was my last official day of employment. They are not withholding benefits for the severance pay I received. Since today's grocery trip was going to clean out our checking account, this was fabulous news and took a massive weight off of my shoulders. Also since I filed for benefits on 5/3 and now, the maximum weekly benefit has increased $25 and they paid all of my retro at the higher rate.

Not much else is happening. Just preparing for the Realtor tomorrow afternoon. We received a St. Joseph statue as an anniversary gift. I have to get it buried tomorrow morning before the Realtor arrives. Hopefully things are going to start going a little more smoothly.

Prayers for all who need them tonight.
Blessings, Jennifer

Evening George,

Jennifer inspired me with all of her cleaning and painting!  Got DD's room cleaned out today, all of her "kid" toys packed away, my baby will turn 13 on the 4th of July!  Went to Wally World and bought her new sheets, comforter and curtains.  New sheets on the bed, curtains hung, comforter in dryer...  next step is cleaning my room, and clearing out all of the "big" clothes and junk that have accumulated.  Some of the clothes have been promised to a friend, but am still figuring the back of my truck will be loaded for a trip to Goodwill.

Jennifer, so glad to hear that TWC is processing your claim, I know that is a huge weight lifted from your shoulders.  Sorry that the process has been so slow, but it is understandable with the amount of people that have been layed off this year.  Still praying that you will be lead to the perfect job.

Prayers for the spoken and unspoken requests.  Blessings to all.

Hi George...
Hope you get some good sleep later on.  We got up early for church and I've been out and about ever since!  A cool front came through late last night and the weather was OUTSTANDING today....like highs only around 81-83 degrees and here at midnight it's now like 67 out.  Needless to say, my window in my room (yes, the same room I had when I lived here...) is wiiiiide open.  BEAUTIFUL.  Sad day at church though because they had a special prayer for a fellow Lutheran pastor in a nearby town who lost his 17 year old daughter in a car accident.  Unfortunately she was texting while driving and started to drift over into the lane of an oncoming car, overcorrected and ended up into a ditch, flipping the car several times.  THAT is one of the biggest things that scares me about having my girls learn how to drive!!!  God obviously needed her somewhere else but I'm sure those parents are hurting.  Just broke my heart for them.

Paul had to fly to California as he has to be out there until Wednesday.  He likes having to go out there when we are back here as it breaks up his time alone, even though it's only for a couple days.

The girls start tennis here tomorrow but with the cooler temps, it will be a piece of cake for them!

Guess I'd better log off.  Everyone else went to bed!  Hope everyone makes it a fabulous week!

I can not see why anyone would attempt to text while driving.  If I am driving and "need" a text sent, I hand the phone to Mary, or I pull off the road.  Prayers for the family.  I know it is hard to handle.

Glad Paul got something to do to break the time up.  He probably wishes it would be the 2nd or 3rd week you are gone though.  Break it up in the middle.

Hope you kiddos enjoy the tennis.  See ya soon.
