"racing to compete a little rather than to complete"...

"racing to compete a little rather than to complete"... Statement made by Darrell about his race today... I found this statement to be very insiprational and motivational for me, and so profound.

It seems though lately I've been in competition with others, who have had 'wls' and who has not,to be the "best"... Eat healthier, exercise more, know more, do more, etc... It seems though I have gotten so caught up with the 'competition' of WLS and losing weight that I've been missing out on the "completing" part. I am not in competion with you or others, in fact not even with myself or my disorderly thinking at times about how "weight" has ruled and defined my life for so long... Weight and numbers-- defined me and who I am/was. I am completing this phase and NOT allowing weight to influence or define me or my successes in life.

(((I say this, but I will continue to work on it, and hopefully it will stick)))

Maybe this will spark some good conversations and reflection on are you "competing" or "completing" parts in your life...
