DFW DINNER 6/27/09 - Joe's Crab Shack - Grapevine - Tomorrow!

OKAY! It really is time!

We haven't gotten together in a while, so let's do it!

WHAT?  Dinner and fun times!

WHERE? JOE'S CRAB SHACK 102 State Hwy 114 in Grapevine, TX 76051 (Call 817-251-1515 for directions.)

WHEN? Saturday Night, June 27th at 7:00 P.M. The reservation is under my name -- "CHARLENE"

WHY? Because it is time and also it will give us a chance to say good-bye to one of our gang (Danni) who is leaving for Georgia.

 Dang, here I thought the reason so few showed for the Vitadiinner was the distance to/from Grapevine ..   !    

 btw, Joe's is one of the most expensive places I have ever eaten in Dallas ..  at least the one in Mesquite is ..   Hopefully there will be a lot of food sharin' goin' on at the Dinner  ..

Um...you don't get out much do you.

Joe's is a chain and the prices are the same or close to it everywhere.

It's priced the same as Red Lobster(actually cheaper than RL), Chili's, Olive Garden....blah blah blah.

They must have lowered their prices then in the last few years (last time I went) ..  

  I just remember I was stunned at my bill amount, and we didn't even have dessert.   

  JCS also had this crazy thing where they would suddenly, w/o warning, start playing LOUD dance music with a disco ball spinning and light show, and one of the waitresses would get out in the middle of the floor and dance around vigorously, totally alone.    Almost as soon as it started, everything would stop, and go back to "biz as usual".  They did this 3 or 4 times that night while we were there.   Weird.      It left me with a big headache, nervous, and not to mention not be able to carry on a conversation while it was going on      Hopefully they've stopped doing that .. 

Paul, you really need to get out more, lol.  That's the beauty of Joe's- it's a fun place to go where people spontaneously dance and sing and have FUN.  The prices are very reasonable in my opinion.

one of my fav memorys of the last dinner we did at Joes is doing the congo line with everyone :) it is NOT a quiet romanitc place or a good place to carry on a converstaions that is olive garden

PAUL..sorry you didn't have a good turn out got your Vita-dinner..but, in all honesty, I doubt the "distance" had anything to do with it...we've been known to drive to Galveston, Rowlett, etc just for lunch and peep time...As for Joe's and the $$$, I find it's all in what you order (pretty much like anywhere else). When my guys go with me, we spend alot more, of course, but if it's just me the "appetizer size" stuff is perfect and reasonably priced, I think. Yes..it IS loud..and yes, sometimes it DOES give me a headache...that's why..when given a choice, I'd rather sit outside...BUT...to be with my peeps, I'd go eat mudcakes on the side of the road...it's not about the FOOD or the LOCATION anymore--ya know?? It's all about about THE PEEPS..and tonight is especially important, as we bid a TEMPORARY farewell to our DANNI, as she goes to join her husband, Tim, in THEIR service to OUR country.

Charlene, please change us from 2 to 5.  So sorry for the last minute change, we just found out tonight that we'll have the youngest 3 kiddos with us at the dinner.  And I guarantee they're looking forward to the YMCA, macarena, chicken dance, and whatever other dances Joe's decides to do while we're there...and so am I....LOL.

Yea!  More kids for MY kids!!


Charlene...mine MIGHT be 5 like normal.  Chris is still "undecided".
