ER visit today

On the way to work today, I started having chest pains. It started as a small pain that grew bigger, in my upper chest and radiating down to my naval. What really scared me was tingling in my jaw. I was almost at Memorial Hermann Southwest, so I just drove myself to the ER and called my daughters.

They did two EKGs and a chest X-ray, plus sucked out a gallon of blood. They did find a minor cardiac marker in my blood work but "not the important one", whatever that means. The doctor finally decided it was indigestion, which I do NOT believe, and sent me home. I have to follow up with my PCP.

I really did want a day off, but not this way!

  • Pease check out Dr. Connie Stapleton's Website. A lot of good information on there for all WLS patients regardless of the surgery you chose.  Good luck to all and I'm here for you if you want to send me an email.  I'll answer it as soon as possible.

Lynne,

I'd be concerned about the cardiac stuff as well.

As an aside, though, you've had your gallbladder out, right?  If you have, and they completely rule out cardiac stuff, you very well could still have stones in the collateral bile duct.

Lynn,
Im glad u went and had urself checked out.  I too have a hard time beleiveing Dr.'s saying "its nothing" when u just know something isnt right.  Right now its the same issue w/ my mom...

Take it easy.

Lynne,

I would get a second opinion.  Heart disease in women go more misdiagnoised than any other disease.  I was misdiagnoised by the ER Dr and 2 weeks later had a double heart bipass.  Take care and watch your warning signs.,

Yes, Lynne.  Definitely follow up.  We went through this with Raymond in April and after following up with our PCP he was referred to a cardiologist and ended up having to have 2 stints placed.  Don't take "not the important one" answer, insist on a real answer.
