Tortilla Chips???

hey girl - as you can see you are getting lots of differnet answers - I do eat nuts and have since very early out - however I VIVIDLY remember dumping on 6 or 8 (I had counted them out so that really was how many) almonds so bad that the boys called Tim b/c i could not stop heaving long enough to call for him to come get us or to drive the 2 blocks home from the car wash

I still eat nuts - chewing very very well - they are great in the purse summer food/snack - just count them out they are high in cals and do add up

as for chips ESP tortilla ones at a resturant - COUNT THEM if you must have them - I mean when the basket comes count out 4 or 6 chips (not nachos but chips) put them on a napkin and have the waitress or  whoever is with you take the rest of the basket away

if you want the nachos think on this can you order them EAT ONE and toss the rest - not take them home but toss them? if yes than go order them have ONE (at 120 cals one would be all I would eat of them even now) and literally ask the waittress to take the rest  - or pour half a salt shaker on them so they are not edible
if you can not do this than do NOT order them - you had this surgery to be healthy and right now you need to drop the weight fast and MAKE GOOD HABITS

ok hope this all comes though with the love and caring it is ment to
peace

Wow, you are already wanting to eat rough food like that this soon out?  I had my surgery June 9th, and I am still on a basically soft diet with tender meats and NO nuts at this point.  You had your surgery only 8 days prior to mine.
Becareful not to over do it too soon.  I am only eating about 1 to 2 ozs per sitting 3 x a day.  And then I feel full before I think I should be.
Nachos sound painful to me at this point in time.

Good Luck though with whatever you decide to do.

I would stay away from the chips, nuts and cashews for a while.  I can tell you that I loved chips and hot sauce.  But now everytime I go to a mexican food place and eat their chips I get sick to my stomach.  I guess it's that maybe they are greasey.  I can eat regular chips fine but not from the resturants.

right now your main concetration needs to be on protein intake.  You are getting to the stage where you are having head hunger.  Don't let it get to you.  It will pass I promise.  I can remember wanting a hamburger so bad those first few weeks.  I knew i couldn't have it but my head was telling me I wanted it.  At about 4-6 weeks out I bought Ritz fat free crackers.  They were crunchy yet they almost melt in your mouth.  I could only do 2 maybe 3 with a little chicken salad on them as a meal.  Anymore than that I I felt like it was coming back up.  You pouch is so small right now that it really can't hold very much.  Once you begin to eat more food you will see this.

You are doing so good right now.  Keep up the good work.  Keep coming here with your questions.  And like Stephanie suggested if you every have any doubts call Dr. B's office and ask them.

I really appreciate all of your input...it was much needed and appreciated.  I know many of you might not have read my earlier post, but I started my regular diet on yesterday.  That is why I decided to ask the question.  I needed specifics!!!  I want to avoid dumping.  Honestly, the first two stages were easier because the doctor did give specifics.

I can't say that I craved nachos or anything, I just wanted to know.  Maybe it was the fact I could eat "regular" foods.  Believe me, I still go really slow.  I was just happy to make it to this point.  With every question I ask, I am trying to be proactive...not reactive.  I don't want to wait until a craving comes and ask.  This is still new to me.  All of it.  I want to be successful!!!!  I value you guys input, that is why I asked.  You all have already traveled this road, and believe me I hear you! I will stay away from the tortilla chips.  However, deprivation and monotony is also how I ended up here.  I don't want to have that same diet frame of mine.  As Paul said, this is the rest of my life.  So any ideas you do have about "regular foods"  let me know (thank you to those who gave me alternatives).  I need all of the help that I can get.

Thanks guys!!!
