The NIGH****CHMAN - Monday - 6/22

Good afternoon.

Oleta spoke with her mother today about the decisions that need to be made.  Her mother just shrugged her shoulders.  They were going to do a tracheotomy today, but did not because they want to know what her wishes are also.  The doc said to let her think about it overnight, then discuss it again.

Mary is still with the kiddos.  She is draining fast.  She said tonight she is going to bed as soon as she walks in the door.

Our day was kind of rough after the celebrating.  So I will start off with the fun part.  Went to church, stopped at Brad's (they overslept and did not make church) to say hi.  Then left to go to Penny's house.  Mary got on the cell phone and told them we were on our way.  Penny said they were almost at our house.  Thank God for cell phones, otherwise they would have been at our house, while we were at their's.  We ended up going to Spring Creek BBQ for lunch, then to the house to watch the Rangers together.  They lost.

Brad called and said Oleta had texted him to get in touch with the pastor, she needed to see him ASAP.  Her mother took a turn for the worse.  Oleta spoke with the pastor, and they are going to speak to the doc's either today or tomorrow about lessening the medications her mother is on, in an effort to get her in a more coherent condition to make decisions about what to do.  Primarily regarding life support.

Please pray hard for Oleta during this time.  Pray for Brad that he is there for Oleta.  And pray for Mary.  She has had the grandkids every day except 3, for the last 3 weeks.  She has had little time to herself, but she keeps on going.

Sorry to babble on so long, I may be back later with more info.

Prayer requests are listed below.

Also, please feel free to just visit here.  Tell us about how your day went.  Your successes.  Your failures.  Your fun.  Whatever.  When I post this thread, I do not have access to any chat programs, so this sometimes substitute as that vessel for me.

Continue to keep your thoughts and prayers for the members of our Armed Forces serving around the world, especially during this time of increased awareness.  Please thank God for these men and women every day.  In addition, please keep the wives and family members in your thoughts.

Hey George...
Posting early as I know as the night wears on, I will be running around like a chicken with my head cut off packing the car.  Mom has been harping on the two older girls to get things ready and packed IN the suitcase instead of just on the bed.  Packing for six weeks is always so crazy.  The girls think they need so much stuff...hello, mom and dad DO have a washer and dryer!  I haven't even STARTED packing so I know I'm gonna be screamed at here shortly, too.  I have to take the two older girls to school here in a bit for tennis practice (with the actual high school team) so that will be good, gives them a break to get out of here while the wild and crazy crap is going on.  Mom just gets soooo worked up before the drive.  uuuugh.  It's going to be darn near 100 the entire drive which will not be easy on the car.  Hopefully no issues!  We plan on heading out between 5:00 and 5:30 am and then will probably get into the boothill of Missouri (Hayti is the town we usually stay at) by 5:00 in the evening.  Twelve hours in the car with the girls is not always a fun day.  Patience wears quite thin!!!

Will try to log on when I get to the hotel if they have free Wi-Fi.  Taking my laptop with me!!!

Hi George;

Brad, Oleta, her family and you and Mary are in my prayers. It sounds like you're all running a bit ragged.

I'm having a tough day. I won't go into a lot of detail. Just struggling with the uncertainty of everything.

It was a busy weekend. We had a wonderful time with Terry here for the weekend and spending a lot of time with Becky on Saturday.

I got two free movies from the RedBox, so I'll be checking in intermittently tonight. Prayers for all who need them.
Blessings, Jennifer

Hi, George,
Your family is in my prayers.  Jim's surgery to remove his kidney is on July 16.  He'll be in the hospital for a week and then home for 6 weeks.  He's a trooper.  He'll be up and about in no time flat.
My mother was placed in a nursing home while my father was in the hospice home.  Before that she was bouncing from the hospital to a psych facility back to the hospital.  She was very depressed and cried all the time.  Her medication has been adjusted and she's back to her normal sweet self.  She can't remember anything at all but she knows us all.  So that is a blessing.  My sister-in-law wants to bring her home.  I keep reminding her that she would need 24 hour care! My mother is where she needs to be.  She's making friends and isn't in the wheelchair anymore.  All in all, she's doing very well which is such a blessing.  It's hard enough dealing with my daddy's passing.  Yesterday was really tough.  I don't know how long I'll cry all the time.  I know it's part of the process though.

Grace,
Janet

Glad your mom is doing better.  It is hard to make the decisions that need to be made.  I am thankful I have not had to deal with it.  My father is in a nursing home, but since I am not in NY, I was not in on the decision.  My one sister, God bless her, did it all.  I have 2 brothers and 2 other sisters living in the area, but no one else stepped up to the plate.

Prayers especially for your dad.  It is so great how far modern medicine has progressed that this operation can be done with so much success.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Evening George,

Oleta, her mom, Brad and all of your extended family continue to be in my prayers.  I am sure God will lead Oleta in the right direction.  Prayers of strength for all.

Had a good interview with the recruiter, had some glitches with one test I took, have and email with a link to retake, so will do that tomorrow.   Totally irrelevant to the job they called me in on, but whatever it takes.

Prayers for all of the spoken and unspoken requests.  Safe travel prayers for Jill and her girls, and Mom.  Clarity prayers for Jennifer, and always special healing prayers for our kids.  Special prayers for those missing someone tonight, I lost my Dad 15 years ago, and still miss him, but I still talk to him when things get really tough...  Blessings to all.

Avis;

I'm coming up on 15 years since I lost my dad as well. Father's Day always is a tough one for me, so I'm still reeling from that a bit.

Keep us posted on your interviewing. I hope yours is much more successful than mine has been.
Blessings, Jennifer
