Yes I have looked into it, but I am going with VGS, and the main reason is VGS can be Lap-Banded by my surgeon, if total weight loss goal is NOT met..  So I do I have that option..  Thanks for your concern!!

The VGS is the first part of the DS, so get that! If you don't reach your goal I would get a switch instead of a band though, better long-term results. But that's problems for later!
Good luck!

Daniel, welcome to the TX messageboard.  You'll find lots of great advice on here.  Congratulations on scheduling your surgery.  It looks like you made a good educated decision about which kind to have and options it gives you later on.  I live in Livingston, so am not too far from PNG.  We go there for football and baseball games since we're in the same UIL district now.  We played the first football game in the new Indian stadium.  It sure is nice.

You're surgery will most likely go smoothly.  Do what your surgeon tells you and don't hesitate to come on here and ask questions.

DANIEL-Welcome to the family!! Like any family, we are a mixed lot..I'm the NICE, older, wise ass sister..I'm 7 years post RNY, have made alot of 'mistakes" and have LEARNED from them. I learn something new every day. You will get 1000 different opinions/answers for every question you ask..and that's okay. We all have something different to bring to the table. To my knowledge, NONE of us is YOUR surgeon, and that's where your FINAL answers need to lie. You are trusting him wiith your life, and I bet THAT is not a decision you made lightly. I hope you will post often and help us get to know you. The daily "WLS Express" is an EXCELLENT starting point..it's like walking into "Cheers"...everyone knows you and loves you..please join us.

PS: Beware...we have 2 Cougars, who shall remain nameless...but you're awfully cute...and they are single....hmmm
