Sunday WLS Express - Happy Fathers Day
Happy father's day to all the dad's out there. My dad has been deceased about 15 years now and there are still times i wish i could tell him thins. He wasnt the 'daddy' type but did the best he could. The man had no clue what to do with 2 female kids.. or basically kids in eneral lol.
Well no plans for me today, other than maybe a lil laundry and of course the sofa :)
im still followin docs orders as told. I know.. shock!.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day, work your tool and stay hydrated in this awful heat
Liz
When I was born, I cried and the world rejoiced. Now i wanna live my life so that when I die, the world cries and I rejoice
I am like you Liz. I lost mine in 1971 at the tender age of 19 and my first semester in college. I still miss him and know he would and will guide me through the decisions I am struggling with now.
He was a great Dad. He and Mom knew how to support us. The were boosters for everything and always around.
I think I may be turning a corner with the upper respiratory stuff. I slept when we got home from RNS and then all night. Unlike you, I ditched the meds the doc sent, they were not working and went back to my sudafed and cough syrup.
Gonna stay quiet today. Tom is going to smoke some meat for the week. We are trying some new stuff to see if it can replace some of the stuff I am tired of. Need variety. He is doing some ribs and kabobs. We will see.
Have a great one
Be Kinder than Necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to all the Dad's,Bonus Dads, Granpas, and Dads to for legged children!! My Dad died about six years ago and we had really just finally gotten to know each other. My parents were divorced when I was 5 and he took my oldest brother and sister(the evil one!) to live with him in Tenn. I only saw him once every year or two till I started college, but it wasn't till I got out on my own that I really got to know him. Brilliant man great sense of humor and unknown till 3 yrs before he died terribly bi-polar! We had an odd relationship, but no regrets and no unfinished business.
Going to church this morning with Mom. I'm not really in the mood but it means a lot to her so... Then out to the nursing home to see Nancy. The prayer warriors must be working overtime!! Nancy sat up in bed yesterday, wanted a hamburger, took 2 trips to the garden w/the hospice worker and asked to go to church services this morning?? They told us she would not make it through the day friday!! The Lord has other plans for her I guess.
Sorry about the novel,
Meggie
Dont worry about the ambien, we all know it just makes me more stupid than usual anyway lol. So happy to hear the good news on your friend nancy! Im kinda like you.. i didnt really get to know my died until he was dying. But at leat i got that time with him. Sounds like you have a big day planned. Hope you enjoy it!

We're going to SS and church today, then going out to lunch w/ my sister's family and mom and step dad. My sister wants us to come eat BBQ chicken for dinner.
I guess I've rested up...came home after my last day of work Thursday at 5:15 or so and haven't left the house...I am about ready to get out again. I know I have a busy week ahead w/ one more day of work and leaving for vacation.
Prayers for all who need them. Prayers for Meg's friend Nancy. Prayers for Liz to get better and SLEEP!
Have a great Father's Day...guess I better call mine.

I probably won't fish, but the guys may...I plan on reading books, laying on the beach and playing in the surf...I love the beach, just not the nasty feel of sand on me when I'm done...my MIL had a house at Bolivar, but sold it a few years ago. I always enjoyed going there. When I was a little girl we lived 20 minutes from Surfside beach and went often with my mom and dad. The last day of school they would load us up when it was out and we would go to the beach and have weinee roasts. Fond memories.
