Hey any half or full marathon runners out there who have had gastric bypass. I would like your impute on what you ate during training and during the race. From what I have read they recommend a high carb diet for training and racing. We all know that's not possible for us who have had WLS. My daughter and I are starting to train for the Dallas 1/2 marathon on Nov 1st. Some think we are nuts but its a goal we would like to reach and maybe even the full marathon on Dec 14th. Please if you don't mind sharing all your insights on eating and your training, it would be much appreciated.

His name is Dan Benintendi..can't recall his user name, but his link is

www.trimywill.com

Keep in mind, DAN is half android..lol...he goes aaaaaaalllllll the way with his exercise goals. His food intake will scare the beejeezes out of you when you first hear it, but THEN he will tell you how many calories he BURNS, etc.

Another EXCELLENT source of info-she's actually a certified trainer- is Tawna H..OH name onetexasmom (I think)..she's on vacation this week, and may not see your post, so, if you don't get the answers you need, you might want to try posting it again next week.

Go visit the Exercise and Fitness Forum. There are a lot of bypass people on there, and they post on a fairly regular basis. Dan is one.

There is a lot of great information over there.

I have recently started the Couch to 5K training and have learned a lot by lurking over there.

Good luck,
Joanne
