Company Physical

I had my annual OSHA-required company physical on Friday.  I got on the scale and he deducted a few pounds for my steel-toed boots and wrote down 154.  Then he was looking at his computer screen (I assume last year's stats) and came over and asked me "WHAT was that weight again ???"  I said "154" and he said WOW - you have lost a lot of weight - nearly 100 pounds !  I grinned and said yep - had gastric bypass surgery.  He congratulated me on my loss and asked me how it felt to lose that much.  I grinned even bigger and said GREAT !!!!

I got my blood work results and even though it is not as extensive as WLS bloodwork, it showed my cholesterol was finally under 200 for the first time in nearly 20 years and my iron is up also.  My iron was on the low side when I had surgery - 45 and then was up to 77 at 6 months and now it up to 98.  I think my fasting glucose was 90.   My blood pressure was 106/66.  Everything else in the blood work was in the normal range and I don't take any meds so I was dismissed quickly without much comment - woo hoo!!

Can you believe that it has been alsmost a year?
I am envious of the 154- I am still at 161-163 but determined.

Now you need to quit with the glamour shots! You look fabulous!!!!.  Yes, finally breathin better. However, i took the trash out earlier and it wore me out! Want to take a shower but that will have to wait a bit.  Still on the sofa doin my breathin treatments, inhalers etc like im supposed to.

Didn't see many mosquitos where we were - I think Texas has the market cornered on the biggest mosquitos - expecially here on the Gulf coast!

I was at bouncing at 161-163 just a few weeks ago and had been there for 6 weeks or so - you will get there!  I am actually around 156-157  - he was a bit generous with his deducts but I didn't complain!

Bees are doing good - both hives building up and I need to inspect them tomorrow if I can stand suiting up in this horrible heat.  No honey yet but nobody I have talked to around here has gotten any and I am not sure why.  At least I know it isn't just my hives.

And no - I really, really can't believe it is coming up on a year already - blows my mind how fast it went and how far I have come.  And yes - you need a new Avie !!!!  I can re-size it for this board if you want to send me a pic to [email protected]

Alaska actually has the biggest mosquito---they consider them the state bird!! LOL!!

No, you haven't seen mosquitos until you go to south Arkansas in the low bottom areas.  They will suck you dry before you can swat them.  LOL. 

Actually--Minnesota has the biggest. Just had surgery Weds--can't wait to be a year out and looking back.
