OT-Stupid question...any potential cat owners?

In my zest to stop the insanity of hundreds of cats being born in my neighborhood, I have found and identified the existing 18 (from three litters) and I'm busy catching and spaying and neutering and trying very hard to socialize some of these precious souls.  I don't get mad about much but not giving a damn and letting your cat roam without having it fixed is unconscionable.  These precious faces of the babies born over and over to starve, being eaten by coyotes...whatever is INSANE!  IF I can catch them all, I will be able to put a stop to it unless of course someone lets a new male and female out that aren't fixed.  I'm not even going to imagine that at this point. I've been feeding them chicken every night for 2 months trying to get them used to me.  I started laying on my stomach, crawling under bushes and getting bitten by mosquitoes to them coming close enough to actually throw food in a carrier and catching 7 so far.  Anyway, I know the rescues are all full and no one has room because of the mortgage situation and what that's done to add to all the abandoned animals...but if you think you know someone that would give a good home, let me know.  I'll show you a video in the next post that I made last night on the fly with my phone.  I think it's adorable and I hope you'll like it.

With that, I hope everyone has an awesome Father's Day if you are fortunate to enjoy celebrating it.  I know my dad won't be around forever and each of them are so precious.
Hugs, Y

p.s. It should tug at your heart strings.  I don't really expect anyone to need one but if it sends a message about spaying and neutering...that's all good.  If you have a dog or cat that needs it, please check out the places you can have it done for practically nothing. They exist...or I'll help you find a place.

Yvonne did you know plano has a group that captures, fixes and releases feral cats - freinds of feral cats or something along those lines - I know they feed them (used to be a bunch behind the office building Tim worked in  - that is how we found out about them)

anyhow it might be worth a check to see if they can help you with traping them and they may have resourses for foster homes - I know you are super active with animal rescue and probalby know this already but hey you never know what someone might not have heard

btw - I think you are great for helping the cats in your area - they did not ask to be treated like that
Home is where the army allows me to live with my husband

I know what I need to do - I have to choose to take care of me or I choose to fail

Thank you my darling...I have heard of them and I WILL give them a call.  If I could just get the spay and neuter part covered, it would be a huge relief because I've paid for too many already.  I have 3 six month olds and 2 eight week olds upstairs in different rooms.  The video is obviously of the baby babies.
Thanks Danni,
much love, Y

Thanks Tiffany, that's incredibly sweet.  Someone asked me a couple of days ago..."What age?"  I said "What age would you like?".  You KNOW I had to look where you lived!!  Hmmm...kinda far for a road trip and kitties.

Awwww, what a cute face....  I wish I could have another, but I'm afraid my 8 yr old feral would let another into her territory.  The fighting through the door and windows when a stray shows up is vicious.  What an angel you are taking care of those babies!  It was great to finally meet you Thursday evening!

Blessings,
Avis

Ahhh  Yvonne ..  you're such a sweetheart!

btw, I see that they have a Siamese cat "rescue" center now in Texas ..  I think it's in Corinth (?) ..

I was so heartbroken though to see that story on Channel 11 over the weekend about that lady in Rockwall that saw somebody in a pickup truck throwing some orange tabby kittens to the pavement, apparently trying to get rid of them and do them in ..       She rescued two of them (IIRC) and the other one ran off ..  Hopefully it is O.K. somewhere ..      (they never did catch the bums, btw   )  ..
