WHAT?? They dont fit!

I got up this morning thinking I would wear one of the 8 pairs of kakis in my closet.  I still have issues with my closet - you see I have not been very good at purging at all.  If you can invision this - I have a long closet rod, and then two short ones that are over each other.  The long rod, holds jackets, strapless shirts, tank tops, sports bras, t-shirts, short sleeve polo collared shirts, long sleeve polo collared shirts, dress shirts, sleevless dress shirts, then tie shirts, skirts, and dresses -- ALL IN THAT ORDER! The top short bar holds a section of "when I get smaller clothes" then heavy winter jackets, below that is all my kakis, slacks, and blue jeans (again in that order!).  My closet is pretty organized but it is FULL of clothes that are more than likely to big for me!

I go to my kakis and pull out the first pair, slide them on to go brush my teeth, I get to the sink and ummmm, these dont fit.  Sigh .  Off they come, folded up and put in the "donation" pile.  Get the next pair, back to the sink to fix my hair, again they dont fit --- now I am standing in the closet folding up kakis as I take them off the hanger, put them on, take them off and fold them up.  That whole "I HAVE NOTHING TO WEAR" moment is secretly coming up .  And mentally I am beating myself up (for what you ask -- you dont want to know!).  I get to the 8th and final pair of kakis (these HAVE to fit) nope again, to big! AGHH! My whole outfit is shot.  What to wear?? I start looking thru everything -- then reach up to the top short bar and pull down a pair of blue jeans - they are in the "when I get smaller" section.  What the heck nothing is fitting today, maybe these will be to big as well! HA! They fit! I couldn't believe it.

Though I now have no kakis that fit, I do have two pairs of blue jeans that do.  Thank goodness my boss is ok with me wearing blue jeans any day of the week if I have a good excuse -- I told him coming naked was not an option

Now I have some 14, 16 and 18 size kakis if anyone is looking.  I need to go shopping, but standing firm on that right now.

Thanks Vivian!  It was a good feeling once I got over the fact that there was nothing to wear to work!

That's great news.  I love it when stuff is too big but it's sad to think of all the money we have tied up in clothes that no longer fit.  I bet someone from down there would bring them to the OH conference in Sept for you if you're not coming.  That way you'd be helping out someone that really needs it.

WOO HOO !!!!

I can remember the days I pulled out every pair of jeans and they were all TOO SMALL and I had to go get bigger ones or I wouldn't be able to breathe that day.  Even if it strained my pocketbook this past year, I NEVER minded having to go get smaller jeans LOL.

This reminds me........

One of the guys at work said to me today as I was passing by his office - "You must be RICH".  We are all working stiffs, so I stopped to see what the punch line was going to be.  I asked "why?" and he said "because of all the clothes you have had to buy - you look GREAT!"

Made my day      I have worked with him over 20 years and he has seen me thinner than I am now and at my highest weight.

I have gone from 22W, 20W, 18W, 16W, 16, 14, 12 and now to a 10 so that makes 8 sizes in 11 months - whew!

That is great!  congratulations.  When I have to buy more clothes, I find that the clearence racks at Kohls is cheaper than resale shops.  I have also found some good deals at Cato's.  I try to buy things tight so I can shrink into them and wear them until they are too big.  It is very tempting to buy more clothes than I have to have to just get by until the next size because when you go to the store and can wear little sizes, you just want to buy everything!

Congrats on that -- time to buy new clothes huh?  I have nothing that fits me until I bought some shorts at Walmart 18W-20W and one pair of 16W-18W shorts.  Everything in my closet is size 26W!

I just wear the shorts and the 2X tshirts I have.  I am disabled so I don't work so I'll get pants later this fall when I get smaller.  Still losing -- almost have lost 100 lbs. in one year and 91 lbs. in 7.5 months.

Congrats again!
