Drs office is on my last nerve!

June 8 DH went in to see Dr.Robert Davis to see about repairing his umbilicus hernia. I went along to check on some things with Dr. Garth in the same clinic. I think I posted about Dr. Roberts office overcharging us for the office visit...some snafu with BCBS about the coverage. DH didn't know the difference and didn't say anything before paying. I knew I should have gone with him!!! BCBS shows Dr. Robert leaving the network on April 30, Dr. Garth is still in the network. I originally called the billing clerk in Dr. Roberts office on the 9th to let her know about the snafu. She told me then she'd double check but not to worry about it. Well, I DO worry about it because that's how crap happens and we have to pay for it!

I called her last week to see if there had been any progress. Again, she acted like I'd lost my mind for not trusting her, insisted he IS in network and blew me off with another "I'll call and check on it". Now, I know, BCBS can make mistakes but I have talked to 3 different people who have all told me the same thing. We have less than a week before DH is supposed to go in for the pre-op stuff and at this point I have NO faith this *person* is going to take care of business with BCBS. Today I had to leave a message because she's not there except during 'clinic days' but she promises to get back with me within 2 business days. Yeah, right!

I believe in being our own advocate but What do I do now besides 1) throwing a hissy fit in his waiting room or 2) cancelling and trying to get in to see Dr. Garth. DH has already made all the arrangements at work for time off, short term disability if needed, etc.  Or am I totally over reacting here?!?!

Try emailing Garth. He always answers me.

I'm not sure I even have Dr. Garth's email. I really didn't want to get him involved in a problem with Dr. Roberts office...but I may have to as a last resort. I'm on hold right now with BCBS....a very nice young man is calling Dr. Roberts office. He has spent the last 30 minutes looking everywhere and Dr. Robert is NOT in the network as of April 30. I have a feeling that person forgot to send in the new contracts when they moved!

I'm confused - I thought they were the same office. I know when I had my surgery, Garth was my surgeon but Robert's name was on all the insurance. Of course, that was almost five years ago.

I guess technically they still are. That may explain why Dr. Robert's billing person insists they are still in network. Maybe they are filing everything under Dr. Garth. Who knows?!?! We were at the new office on Gessner. Dr. Garth's office is on one side and Dr. Robert on the other. Both have seperate waiting rooms, seperate people although the area behind both 'windows' is common space. I called Dr. Garth's office earlier to see if it was possible for him to take over and do the surgery or would DH have to see him and start the process all over. I was told it was seperate offices and we'd have to have both Dr.s permission to change Dr.s and insurance would have to be re-applied for. I figured that about the insurance. Seems they are trying to be sperate yet in the same location.

Dee....I think I would go up there during clinic hours and have a face to face talk with this lady.   I would also get her to CALL the insurance co. while I was standing there so I could make note of all the people's names that she speaks with that way if anything ever was to come up about non- payment of the services you can say so and so talked to whoever and they said it was covered.   Dee....I alaways go to the top dog when I am unhappy about something and trust me....I would do a face to face visit with this lady to make sure it is done.   It might cost you a little time but save you lots of grief in the long run.   Good luck with hubby's hernia repair.

Yeah...I've already decided if she doesn't get this straightened out tomorrow, I'll be in her office on Monday. They only open the office on Mondays and Thursdays.

I will pray really hard Dee that the situation will be resolved quickly for you.    I know how stressful crap like that can be.    It gets on my last nerve to have to deal with stuff like that.    My hubby said this AM he is ready to get off strike and go back to work.    LOL   Not nearly as ready as I am for him to go back.   Hope it happens real soon !!!   Keep us posted on what happens.

LOL! Sounds like my Grandmother when GrandDaddy retired. She said she married him for better or worse but NOT retirement! Luckily he started raising cows and worked the ranch to stay out of her hair! Hang in there...this, too, shall pass!

Dee......sure do hope that it will pass quickly.   LOL  Between him being home and under my feet 24/7 and now the floor people coming back on friday AM to tear out my master bath floor and shower and re do them....I am going to go crazy !!!  LOL    I dread the 2 to 3 days it is going to take for them to re-do the floors there and the shower.
