The NIGH****CHMAN 6/14
Good news for my son. Real good news. His job he started 6 weeks ago, gave him the promotion he was "promised" when they hired him. A nice 25% pay increase while training for the next 30 days. Then he becomes salaried, but gets another 33% increase. Wow!
On the sad side, his MIL is quite ill. She is still in JPS with pneumonia and COPD among other things. They have her on an intervader (???) to force her to breathe. She was not breathing on her own.
Prayer requests are listed below.
Also, please feel free to just visit here. Tell us about how your day went. Your successes. Your failures. Your fun. Whatever. When I post this thread, I do not have access to any chat programs, so this sometimes substitute as that vessel for me.
Continue to keep your thoughts and prayers for the members of our Armed Forces serving around the world, especially during this time of increased awareness. Please thank God for these men and women every day. In addition, please keep the wives and family members in your thoughts.

First off, keeping your MIL in my thoughts. Sounds like the word you were looking for was "intubation"...a machine to breathe for her. If you are intubated, they have a tube down the throat helping the person breathe. Hope she starts to improve.
Busy weekend at my house. My parents got in on Saturday so we've been blowin' and goin' since they got here. Not too many projects that dad has to work on this time. He does have to fix the ceramic soap dish that WAS attached to the wall in the girls' bathroom. V put her foot up there to soap up I guess and put too much pressure on it and knocked it right off the darn wall, soooo, everyone has been using my bathroom as I didn't want the back wall to get wet and wanted it dry so when he got here, he could start working on it. He already stripped out the old apoxy and got the surface all prepared to reattach it probably tomorrow. We do have to get a new storm door for the back door as the old one somehow go****er between the panels and rotted out. What a difference it makes to have it! When it rains, now the water hits that first instead of the back door itself. When we had those wind-driven rains, it would seep in and got the floor wet. Not after we had that installed though. Oh well, it's been there for about 12 years so time for a new one.
Sarah has vacation bible school tomorrow but can only go for about an hour. She also starts her week long tennis camp. I'm really hoping she does ok in this horrible heat. I know they do give the kids lots of breaks so I'm glad to hear that. I'll be sending her with a huge jug of water!
Gotta shop for Heather tomorrow, too. She will turn 16 on the 16th so her "golden" birthday. I think I'm going to try to find her a new television that we can mount to the wall so she can lay in bed and watch it. I want to find some side speakers, too, because she has to usually turn the sound up so loud to hear it. Maybe a new, bigger TV will just have better sound. Don't know....
TTYL....
Hope you have a good visit, and an easy trip up that way. When will you be leaving to go there?
Eddie has church camp tomorrow.
How serious is it normally if you have to be intubated? I amnot sure Oleta is asking the right questions to determine how good/bad her mother really is. She is still talking about her travelling to Colorado next month for her son's wedding. I am not sure she will be able to travel even if she is out of the hospital.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
Prayers for all who need them.

If I were lying, wouldn't my pants be on fire?!?
Thanks. When Brad enjoys what he is doing, he impresses the daylights out of management. He is not allowed to tell anyone that works there about the promotion until the day he is promoted. They are afraid some of the old timers will quit if they don't bring it on them gradually. I personally think, if they are going to quit, they are going to quit.
Looking forward to your weekend report.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
After the parade, Michael got a text from one of our friends who lives in north Austin that he was at South Congress and Elizabeth, so we met up with him and hung out until about 11pm. Long ride home, but the temperature was just about perfect. Rare that I can ride at night is just a tank top and crop jeans without being cold. By the time we got home, the combination of 4 hours on the bike and all the painting previously in the week, left me quite sore.
Saturday, I had to be up by 7:30 to meet up with my ladies social group to go to the Blanco Lavender Festival. I did not want to get out of bed, but also knew that I needed to spend time with them as I don't know how much longer I'll be here. We toured one of the lavender farms and had a really nice lunch in downtown Blanco. I got home around 2, checked email, changed into painting clothes and got back to it. We painted the last two walls of the upstairs open area, the upstairs bathroom ceiling, the family room ceiling and three walls and part of the kitchen ceiling. It was after 10pm when I got out of the shower and was all cleaned up.
Sunday, I got up early, checked emails and started laundry so Michael could pack for ATL. We started back at painting at 11am. When we moved the fridge, the water line to the ice maker sprung a leak, so that became a 1.5 hour "detour" obtaining parts and fixing it. But, we were able to finish the remaining two walls of the family room and the kitchen. We finally wrapped up around 11:30pm.
So, we're getting close. The walls-to-ceiling cut in work needs to be completed in the downstairs hallway, part of the kitchen and the upstairs bathroom. I'm going to try to get the hallway and bathroom done today. Whatever is not done today will have to wait until after next week's company has left. Then our bedroom needs to be painted and we're done. Finally.
Michael is in ATL until late Thursday night. He was supposed to leave on 6/27 for Florida for than annual beach house vacation. I wasn't going because of my lack of job. He's decided to cancel his trip so we can have the painting finished and house on the market by 7/1.
All of the painting has been good for my body. My shoulders and arms look amazing. But all of the extra energy I'm expending is making me hungry all of the time. If we don't finish painting soon, I'm going to eat us out of house and home. I'm eating like 8x a day right now.
OK, I'm finally starting to yawn again after getting up to take Michael to the airport at 4:30. I'm going to take a little nap.
