I use mine 6 days a week and actually kinda dread Sunday (the one day I don't get on the bike) because I don't feel as good that day!!

The key is TV.  I think any kind of exercise machine is super boring if you can'****ch TV while doing it.  So make sure that wherever you set it up, you have a good view of the TV.  My partner attached a little basket to the control panel of ours just big enough to hold the TV remote and a water bottle.  Also, I plugged in a tall fan right next to the bike, so that when I start getting hot, I can turn on the fan and it blows right next to my head.  (The bike has a built-in fan, but it's useless -- blows like a whisper.)

I first got on the bike because RNY was not getting rid of my diabetes like I thought it was going to.  I hated exercise my whole life before then.  That bike has made all the difference.  Not only is the diabetes much better, and not only do I feel better, but I am crazy proud of myself for sticking with it.  I do it in the morning right after my breakfast protein shake, when I'm feeling bloated with all the protein, which makes me WANT to move because it'll make me feel less full.  As an added bonus, exercising in the morning accelerates your metabolism and fat-burning for the rest of the day.

I wish all of that for you too.  Good luck.

 Great job, LL ..

The fan thing ..  reminds me of the extra "bonus incentive" of riding those Schwinn Airdyne exercise bikes (do they even make those anymore?  ) ..   It has the spokes designed like fan blades, so the harder you pedal the harder the fan blades blow air onto you to cool you off ..   Pretty ingenious .

 Way to go, Phyllis!  ..

To help ensure continued use (other than as a clothesrack - hehehe), may I suggest setting it up in a quiet corner, but where you can view the T.V. from it?   It seems so much "easier" to use that type of equipment when you can watch a fav. program on TV/DVD while using it .. It will also help you stay "steady" in using it, if you make a point to use it whenever a certain daily show (e.g. news, soap opera, etc.) comes on ..

btw, anyone interested in buying any home exercise equipment on a budget, there are some stores called "Play It Again Sports" in the DFW area that sell used home exercise equipment pretty cheap.  They have one location on Town East Blvd. in Mesquite, and I think at least one location in the Coppel/Hurst area somewhere ..

Good for you, Phyllis !
I need to find someone to fix the pedal on my stationary bike, or i have to get rid of it this next weekend.
I've had to guys say they'd do it, but they can't seem to get it done.
Oh well. I did get back to the gym this week, after about 6 weeks away from it. AND i joined a new gym, with more amenitties, and took some savings and hired a personal trainer for 3 sessions. So, here's to working out more for both of us!
