MIND HUNGER
Ladies,
Thanks for the great tips/ideas.
I'm going to aim for doing something to distract my mind from food. Sounds like and IMPOSSIBLE task, but I'm really going to try.
I'm 8 months post op, I wonder when this sort of thing goes away???? Does it every go away???
Thanks a bunch,
Lisa D. Mtz.

Not being flippant....
Did they do ANYTHING to your brain when they performed your surgery? No? Sorry...this is the way it is. You will ALWAYS want something when it smells good. HOWEVER, your head WILL wrap around what works and what doesn't eventually because REASON will kick in and your head will have the "it might smell/look good but it will _ _ _ me, or get stuck or _ _ _"(whatever).
The base feelings food brings on will always be there. Your willpower comes into play and it's DAMN HARD. Be proud of yourself one day/pound at a time because while your stomach is smaller and the amount you can eat is less...the desire was not removed and that's the demon you have to fight now. Yes, it WILL get easier because you will see your progress and realize that THAT is everything and the food just isn't as appealing as before because:
NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS SKINNY FEELS!!!

- Pease check out Dr. Connie Stapleton's Website. A lot of good information on there for all WLS patients regardless of the surgery you chose. Good luck to all and I'm here for you if you want to send me an email. I'll answer it as soon as possible.
