Went Swimmig W/ My Son

Well I bit the bullet and went swimming with my older son Matthew this past weekend ... it was a blast. We had so much fun and I have never been so sore. Can't wait to get to go back to the pool with my younger soon too (however he is sick right now) so that might be a week or two! Thanks again to all that encouraged me to get a swimming suit - a friend gave me a great one so I ended up not having to purchase one and rocked it out this past weekend. I was self concious at first about the extra skin on the old arms and legs, but once I hit the water I forgot all about it and just had a good time! :)

Im sooo happy to read this. Im glad u got out of ur comfort and enjoyed the water with your son. I can sooo relate to this. I used to make excuses about why I wouldn't get in pools or the beach in my own backyard. (yes, I just bragged a bit about a beach in my backyard. lol j/k) I would say dumb things like, people PEE in the pool. ewww (they still do) Or animinals give BIRTH in the beach water (yuk) But now... u can't get me off the rides and off the river at schlitterbahn. My boys no longer go with me on the rides...I tire them out. lol So I go by myself with my diet tea in hand and enjoy the river...

Ok i rambled. sorry. Ok isnt life just FUN after wls?? WHO knew!!!

Well Monica --- are you up for some Schlitterbahn company... I would love to go sometime this summer and take the kids. I might just have to call you if we can fit it into the vacation schedule. I have never heard the excuse about the animals giving birth in the water to avoid swimming, but I am sure I would have used it if I had thought about it..... I hated swimming before. I am going almost every day since this post and I must say that I am sleeping better at night. Think it is because the main time we swim is from like 7-10pm so by the time we finish I am all tuckered out!

It was so great meeting you at RYD hopefully it won't be that long before I see you again - are you going to the OH Conference in Dallas in Sept?

Good For You!!! I think you will find that if you just go out and have a good time.........most people will just smile and see some gal with her son havin fun in the pool.....Kudos!
