    b) Diane Mott Davidson, murder mysteries, any and all "Chopping Spree is a good one ( these are not gory, caterer sans mystery solver is the lead character)

Great idea and great post.  I'm an avid reader and I love to know what others are reading.

1) What book are you reading now?  Pillars of the Earth by Ken Follett.

2) Who is your favorite author?  It's hard to pick a favorite, but I really enjoy books by Andrew Greeley.  He's a Catholic priest who writes romantic fiction and mystery.  His novels can be surprisingly sensual to be written by a priest.

3) What book have you not read but are intimidated by?  I've always wanted to read Anna Karanina.  I started it once, but the Russian names got to me and I put it down.  I will tackle it again some day.

4) What style of book is your favorite?  Historical fiction is my current genre of choice.

5) Name three authors you would reccomend, their genre and your favorte tiile by them.
John Berendt writes "non-fiction novels."  My favorite is Midnight in the Garden of Good & Evil.
Joyce Carol Oates writes novels that deal with family dysfunction.  My favorite is "We Were the Mulvaney's."
Marek Halter writes novels based on real females in the Bible.  I've only read the first of the Canaan Trilogy so far.  "Sarah" is the story of Abraham's wife.  I can't wait to read the next two.

The other recommendation I have for people who like to read is to go back and read the classics.  I'm working on reading many of the classics that I missed growing up.  I recently read Robinson Crusoe, Lady Chatterly's Lover and My Antonia.  I appreciate them so much more as an adult than I ever would have as an assignment for school.

I love the Mitford Series.  Great characters and gentle story lines.  Every time I finished one of them I missed the characters like they were my friends.  I couldn't wait for each one to come out.
