"buyers remorse" is NORMAL.  They didn't fix your head when they fixed your stomach.  It takes time and it WILL get easier.
My doc said if you have to slurp it with a spoon it's pureed.

Thanks Kris!  I just don't want to eat something that might make me sick.

Nothing new to add.  Just wanted to send you a big cyber {{{{{hug}}}}}. We've all been where you are.  Trust me, it does get better.  The others had some great ideas. And, don't forget, your doctor's office should have instructions for you on what you can/can't have at this point.

Will put in a plug for my FAVORITE protein though. Optimum Nutrition.  Have loved all the flavors I've tried so far and that's quite unusual.  :)

Best of luck on your journey.  We are here for you!!!

Ditto to what everyone else said.

Dr. B usually lets his patients move to puree/soft foods after 1 week.  The things on that list were mash potatoes, cream of wheat, cream soups etc.  You can also check the eggface blog for more suggestions.  It gets better by the day.  Try doing something to take your mind off it.  I was off work 6 weeks after my surgery, and I read alot of books, walked around the mall and window shopped for all the small clothes I will be wearing...LOL

Thank you!  I have my instructions.  I am just concerned that I may not puree correctly.  I am going to check out that blog!

congratulations on your surgery and hang in there.  it does get easier!!!  to puree, just put something solid in the blender with some liquid and use the puree setting.  i don't have a magic bullet, but bet you can do the same thing with it.

my dr has his patients make a stew of lots of chicken or beef and some veggies and lots of broth.  coo****il really tender and then puree it.   it was heavenly the first time i ate it.   other things that got me thru the first days were plain yogurt mixed with cinnamon and sweetener and a small amount of  frozen fruit in the blender along with your protein.  helps to hide the protein taste.

it does get a lot easier with time and the results are definitely worth it.  be patient with yourself.  and, remember to sip, sip, sip.
