I am elated to say that I am 7 days post-op!!!  I was terrified last Monday morning, but thank God I made it!!!

You guys, I am starving.  I was doing fine until yesterday.  Now, I want to eat.  I believe I can move to purees, but I am a little skeptical because just don't know what to puree or how to puree.  Unfortunately, I am beginning to regret my decision.  This is a more than what I bargained for.  I really thought I was ready..mentally and physically, but guess I was wrong.

I am not a happy camper right now...

{{{{Big Hugs}}}}  Been there done that sweetie...hang in there.  I PROMISE you it is worth it.  I also bet you're not really starving, just having a big old bout of head hunger.  Try drinking more liquids, SF popsicles or SF pudding, also creamed soups help to keep you full.  Pureed food is basically mush: oatmeal, cream of wheat, yogurt, you can even put some tuna in a blender and pulse the crap out of it.  Most people at your stage have a little "buyer's remorse" but when that weight starts falling off, you'll be so happy you did this.  Also I hope you,re getting in your protein-there are a lot of good tasting ones out there.  GNC is a great place to start.

Thanks-a-bunch!!!  I have been eating Popsicles, but they aren't doing the trick right now.  What types of cream soups are best?  Do they have to be pureed?  Are soups from Olive Garden okay?

As for the protein, no, I am not getting it in.  It tastes horrible.  I have tried a couple from GNC, but I don't like the taste AT ALL...yuck!  What brand do you buy?  I also purchased a couple of flavors of nectar from Bariatric Advantage?  It hard getting all of the water and protein in...I always feel full or bloated.  Believe me, I want to.  I just don't want to stretch my pouch, or get sick.

Help?????

I buy Max protein from GNC (not all GNC'S carry it).  A lot of people like optimimum nutrition from GNC.  Take one scoop Chocolate protein powder and One cup of Hood's calorie countdown chocolate milk (walmart), blend and freeze.  After about 1-2 hours eat it like a frostie~yummy.

Optimum Nutrition Vanilla Ice Cream is awesome.  And you can change vanilla up so much by adding s/f jello or s/f pudding to it to change the flavors.  GNC has Optimum Nutrition.  I'd be willing to mail you samples of 2-3 of the Optimum Nutrition flavors if you'd like, PM me your address.

I would stay AWAY from Olive Garden's soups.    Some people ( me included ) dump on rich fat filled soups.   Olive Garden soups are NO WAY low calorie !!!!   In fact my favorite the Tascona has rich cream in it.   Beware of soups out in restaurants so early post op.   Trust me I went to many a restaurant early post op and ate then went to the restroom only to loose my dinner.    I loved Progresso soups.   The chicken cheese enchilotta is great and purees very well.     You should also be able to eat Wendy's chili ( pureed ) and Taco Bells Pintos and cheese.   Good luck to you hon....and like Steph said....we all regreat  our decision to have WLS in the beginning and most of us do go through a mourning period of missing foods !!!   it does get better !!!!
