The NIGH****CHMAN 6/8
Reading my Bible verses today, I came across this (The Message is the version I read):
Psalm 127:1 If God doesn't guard the city,
the nigh****chman might as well nap.
Prayer requests are listed below.
I do ask that you keep me updated on requests. Often. Please.
Also, please feel free to just visit here. Tell us about how your day went. Your successes. Your failures. Your fun. Whatever. When I post this thread, I do not have access to any chat programs, so this sometimes substitute as that vessel for me.
Continue to keep your thoughts and prayers for the members of our Armed Forces serving around the world, especially during this time of increased awareness. Please thank God for these men and women every day. In addition, please keep the wives and family members in your thoughts.

Those who are not yet unemployed, but layoffs are looming

Dana - requests prayer for her sister, Renee. She had tumor on her jaw removed. Now needs jaw reconstruction on 7/23 - (10 hour surgery scheduled).
Debra - has been put on no work by doctor due to memory loss that is related to recent hospitalization. Also, with the no work comes less pay. Prayers for the financial side of the situation.

Janet (1divaatheart) says her husband's tumor is shrinking (Praise God!). Pray for her family as they deal with the passing of her father (5/17).
Jill - pray for her daughter Heather who is taking driver's education. Pray for Jill's hubby, Paul, and Jill as they assist with the learning process.

Prplecat asks prayer for her health battles as well as the family's move to Wichita Falls.
SandiB - prayers for something going on in her life.
Vicki V. - husband Patrick continues to have health problems. Update on Patrick. His most recent diagnosis from the neurologist is Ataxia and Neuropathy of the left side. Which basically means he has virtually no feeling in his left leg and foot - probably the results of both a broken femur (more than 30 years ago) and his more recent heart and lung surgeries and the bed confinement from all of those.
Vanessa (Butterfly Reborn) - requests prayer for her family. There were no specifics, but I am sure the Lord knows.
Below are three of God's children that definitely need our prayers.
Cindy Mc - a coworker has a 5 yr old son who was diagnosed at 3 with Metastatic Retinoblastoma. I am just asking that you pray for Isaac Xavuer Vasques-Grimmett. His cancer was too advanced for the study at St Judes. He was really weak when they got back from Memphis and he went to Childrens and they started chemo and radiation again and we are really needing a miracle here for Isaac. He is a very sick little boy and his mom told me that she was trying to prepare herself for the worst while she prayed for the best.
Gina J. - Pray for her 6 year old Marina, diagnosed with a terminal illness at age 2. She has improved, but still needs our prayers. Pray for this brave little girl.
Vanessa - We have all followed the story of Elizabeth. Here is her Caringbridge page:
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
Productive day here. I slept in later than usual this morning (9:15), but hit the ground running. By noon, I'd had breakfast, researched and applied for 5 jobs and watched The Price is Right. Shortly after noon, I shut down my computer and Michael and I re-hung all of the light fixtures and curtains in the rooms that painting was complete in. Then, I took a quick lunch break and checked email. After lunch, I started taping the upstairs. I finished that just in time to get ready to go to my shrink appointment.
Went to my shrink, came home and by then, Michael was done with work for the day so we started painting. In 3.5 hours, he got the entire upstairs ceiling painted (except for our master bedroom) and I got nearly all of the cut in work done. Having the ceiling done is a *huge* accomplishment because it's 16 feet from the base of the landing to the ceiling on our stairway and fear of getting that done had been a mental roadblock for us.
I just finished checking email for the evening and am catching up on I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here.
Tomorrow, if Michael can wrap up work early, we'll get the walls done, shower and then catch the game. We've been talking about going up to the local sports bar as a little reward for our hard work, but since we did so much tonight, we didn't have stir fry for dinner like we'd planned, so we may end up staying in and stir frying tomorrow night. We'll see how exhausted we are.
I hope you're having a good day. I'll be around for a while tonight. Prayers for all who need them.

If I were lying, wouldn't my pants be on fire?!?
Waiting for Big Brother.
Congrats to Mikey on the ceiling. Good job on his part. You guys will be done in no time.
Regardless of where you watch it, enjoy the game. Hope the Wings make it very enjoyable for you. I would normally be rooting for the Penguins, but for you guys I am cheering for the Wings.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!
Even the Red Wings games, I have to force myself to focus on what's going on instead of being completely ADD.

Just got home from work....WEekend was GREAT.........SHORT - went by QUICK - but what else is new ? The weekends never last long enough.
You can take JAmes off of the prayer list. I don't think that he is looking too hard for a job. I don't really think that his "dr" wants him to go back to work - yet - anyway...............but he wants too.
James' appt this morning went good. They up'd his RX of Nexium to 2 pills a day...........1 am / 1pm type of thing................they did show some spots in his stomach that they took a biopsy of and sent it off - he'll know something in about 10-14 days..........give or take............follow up with pcp in a few weeks..................
I don't have any planned for this week except for working and staying on track with my eating habits................trying to get back to normal after last weeks' horror..............the scale is reflecting that - but i'm okay with tha t- because I deserve it and I know now that what i've been doing for the past 3-4 days is back on track...............so - it will catch up and start going down again..........I know it will !!
I'm sleeping better and I'm feeling like I"m getting my rest again at night. NOt waking up several times during the night and well I think that my energy level is coming around again.
You all have a GREAT night !! night night

Not much new here. It finally hit me this weekend that I will be totally unemployed at the end of the month, no income what so ever, can't collect unemployment because I've been contract for the last year. Let's just say there are a lot of things that I have to do between now and the end of the month, that I will disagree on how they are being done. Good ole' bandzilla is clamped down tight, can't get more than a couple of bites in before I'm ready to hurl.
Thought I had a great interview last week, haven't heard a word since.... It's so darn frustrating, I have no patience, I'll be the first to admit it!!
Prayers for the spoken and unspoken requests, special prayers of healing Isaac, Elizabeth Grace, Dana's sister Renee, Debra, Anne, Oleta, Janet's husband, Dustin, Meggie, Prplecat, Sandi B, Patrick, Vanessa, may God touch each of you with His healing hand. Comfort prayers continue for Nina, Lynette and Annette, and all that have lost someone special. Blessings to all.
