HELP!!I WANT FOOD!
I want to eat food!! I am a person with no patience and everything has been going so well for me I really want to eat something. Someone please tell me this is normal!!! I have had NO problems since surgery, really don't feel like I had anything done. I have no problems with intake but I am ready for something more.....is that possible? I don't feel like I am getting enough from my 60g liquid protien every day and 64oz water. Does anyone have any suggestions? I really need some support right now. Thanks!!!!
Are you using S/F popcicles.....those saved a bunch of us early out, just to be able to crunch on something. S/F jello and S/F pudding were good little "treats" early out also, I still keep both in my frig most of the time.
That's awesome that you are drinking and getting your protein in already.

Dana,
I knew of all people you would respond to me. Thank you!! I do have my SF popsicles but I tend to save them for after my evening walk.....you know when you want to snack. SF pudding is not recommended until my next step :( and I have SF jello but have texture issues and scared to try it! Like I said I feel so great I don't feel like I even had surgery 7 days ago. Again, thank you for your advice!

Stephanie,
Thank you so much for your response. How funny, I just had my "dinner" and I actually did broccoli cheese cream soup which I diluted with chicken broth for the flavor and little bit extra protien, then strained it of course. Now I feel somewhat satisfied. I have now decided the soup will be my saving grace! Thank you again for your response!

I felt exactly the same way a few days after my surgery -- I craved real food. I found a gourmet recipe for pureed lentil soup in The New York Times and made that. It was fresh, savory, filling, delicious, and high-protein, even more so with a dollop of Greek yogurt stirred in. My family loved it too. And it didn't bother my pouch. So I agree that soups are really helpful. If you're a cook and are interested in the recipe, let me know and I will find it again on the NYT website and send you a link.
It is normal! I have had to leave resturants before because it was very emotional and have gone in the bathroom and cried because I could not eat. Sometimes in certain place, even though I am 2 yrs out that ugly "I want to eat anything" button turns on and I look through my little progress book of pictures and rememeber why I did what I did!

When you can have them low fat saltines helped me out a lot with the crunch issues. You are very normal and you will continue to go thru a grieving process where you are literally mourning food. Or at least all the people I have talked to have. But you will make it! Remember the phase you are in is really the "honeymoon" phase and you will be dropping the lbs and inches- big time! Enjoy the ride! Good luck dear!
I had my surgery the day after you and I want to eat food also!! So I'm here with you! It's so hard! My problem right now in addition to the mind games of still wanting to eat is realizing just how much I can eat and trying to get in my water. How do you get so much fluid in?
Hang in there... I know it will get better for both of us!
