Food Prices At the New Cowboys Stadium

Is anyone else steamed up about them?   Looks like the owners decided to put ALL of us on a "diet", vis-a-vis not being able to afford to eat much of anything while there.

I saw a price list yesterday in the newspaper and it's like $13-$15 for sandwiches, hotdogs, etc.    The cheapest item on the menu - a bottle of water - was $5.       This is even higher than at the old stadium.   IMHO those prices are at least twice what they should be ..  Talk about a rip-off,  taking advantage of a "captive audience".

But then when you see that the stadium cost over a BILLION dollars to build ..  I guess it's understandable that the owners have to make up for that overly-extravagant cost as much as they can   ..

Of course the prices are higher at the new stadium than the old one.  They have bills to pay..  Football games are more expensive to go to period.  More expensive than Baseball or basketball.  Cowboys will play 10 games in the new stadium this year as opposed to the Rangers with approximately 100 home games and the Mavericks with about 50.  Less opportunity to make money = higer prices.  As far as them "taking advantage of a captive audience", you don't HAVE TO eat at the game.  My advice is eat before you get to the game or you could always have a tailgate party.  Save your money for souveniers.  If you want to be mad at something how about the $40 parking.....  Or the businesses around the stadium who were charging $60 to $100 to park in their lot.

Dang, sounds almost like you work for them or something ..        They DO hold events in the stadium other than Cowboys games throughout the year, btw ..  Such as the George Strait/Reba McEntire concert that opened it, yesterday ..

Do they allow fans to bring in outside food, if anyone knows?

But I agree the parking prices are ridiculous too ..       As far as the other businesses, can't fault them, if the stadium engineers didn't plan sufficient parking facilities for the events ..

oh yes.. you're right.. they do have 5 other things scheduled there this year so far.. so now we are up to 15 events as opposed to 100.. lol...  I agree about the parking.  They built 12,000 spaces.. will use the 12,000 or so from Ballpark at Arlington and use some from Six Flags.  For a venue that can seat 100,000 people that is not near enough.  Now granted most people will ride in a car with at least one more person but you still have to take into account stadium personel, media, etc.  And the parking lots are really a long walk away.  People will pay the outrageous amounts to park in a business and be closer.

 Well update newsflash time ..

I heard on CBS 11 news this a.m. that the Arlington City Council is going to meet tonight re:   passing an ordinance that will set a price which local business owners will be restricted to when charging for parking on their property during new Cowboy Stadium events ..

Well, I already had plenty of reasons to be a Steelers fan ... thanks for giving me one more!  I've lived in the DFW area most of my life but lost all respect for the Cowboys when Jerry Jones got hold of them, especially after Jimmy Johnson (wisely) flew the coop.  R.I.P., Mr. Landry; I hope there's no football coverage on the six o'clock news in Heaven.

Paul......I am pretty sure on the news last night I saw that hot dogs were $7.50.   But then are the foods served at those games REALLY WLS friendly anyway ??????  IMHO NO !!!!!   And Kathy works for my bariatric surgeon NOT the COWBOYS !!!!  LOL   I won't be going there anyway....really doesn;t matter to me what they charge for anything !!!

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

I agree Viv.. I saw the same prices.  I probably will never go there either.  I outgrew my desire to be in those crowds years ago.. Now they just annoy me.  Besides I prefer watching my beloved Cowboys from the comfort of my living room.

The prices are relatively reasonable for the venue.  They are in business to make money.  Lots of it.

If you don't like their food, sorry, at the football stadium, you eat nothing until you leave.

However......  if you want to bring your own food, go to the Ballpark in Arlington.  You can bring in your food and drinks (no glass bottles or cans).  You can park for $5 on Friday nights.

Paul, there are a lot of more important things in life to get ticked off about.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Good point, George ..  (let's get ticked off at the Rangers for not winning more games!  )

And thanks for the info.   I really need to try the Ballpark sometime ..   (btw, when is the next TMB Rangers get-together?  Do you have one planned yet?   )
