Jumpstart June

Welcome Holly...it's never too late for someone to jump in or join us.  I understand about the summer thing.  I work as an educ. diagnostician and the time off in the summer is hard having more access to food and not being on a schedule.

How's everyone's June going?  I did fine yesterday eating wise.  I had 2 protein drinks, lots of liquids, a pancake and piece of sausage for breakfast, some potato w/ bacon, cheese, ranch dressing for lunch, and 2 tamales w/ pinto beans and a little cheese for dinner, plus a lemon bar.

Today's plan:
lots of liquids
at least 2 protein drinks
something for lunch...won't have until getting home from graduation
dinner: we did a "Chipotle" restaurant bar for dinner for about 75 or so people...meat, rice, salsa, cheese, beans, etc. and Chuy's green dip and chile con queso and chips plus 5 types of Lawler's cheesecakes, lemon bars, almond bars, and brownies.

What's your plan?

Karla

Hoping today is better food wise, I did better on water yesterday.   My meals were fine yesterday, ate too many wheat pretzels though.  I should of never bought them.

Oh Karla, the Chy's green dip sounds yummy I love that stuff :).

I am getting my protein in and most of my water. Still can only have liquids but did have some runny oatmeal last night and it took forever to get it down. Have lost 5 1/2 lbs since Monday--not neccesarily a good thing at this stage to lose it this fast at the stage of the game. Stayed in the recliner most of the day but went to the museum (Kimball) and got in 4300 steps. Maybe when they do my scope and mind out what is going on I will be able to start eating again!

OK, I admit, I have no self control.  I made brownies to take to Lorelea's and ate 3-4 of them!!  Luckily breakfast and lunch were good choices yesterday.  Now is the time to make a plan for today so I better go hit the freezer and take out some protein.  Probably will have some sort of meat and a salad.  I've actually been craving salad which is really weird for me.  Maybe this is a "life changing" thing??

I know Dana, it sucks!!  But I have to admit I make some pretty killer brownies.  Actually that's the first time in 2 YEARS that I had one (OK, like 4) so I still think that's a victory.

Speaking of donuts, yesterday I went to my OLD favorite donut shop with my daughter.  I hadn't been in there in over 2 years and when I walked in the sweet Korean owner clapped her hand over her mouth and said "Oh my, you so beautiful!!!  What you lose, like 100 pounds?"  Then she said, "you no eat donuts anymore, huh?"  That was so sweet and funny but a really nice reminder of WHY I don't eat donuts anymore.

Interesting you bring up donuts. When my husband and I drove past Krispy Creme the light was on. When I lived in or was visiting Virginia I always stopped if the fresh donuts light was on! They are the best hot out of the oven all melt in your mouth yumminess!! When Krispy Creme opened here the light was never on so I never stopped! Since I had surgery the light is ALWAYS on when I pass, and I do keep going!! Donuts scare me to death!!

Looking over the past week, I am so PROUD of myself! I am not looking at my scale for whether or not I am successful or not. I've stuck to a very healthy diet (not diet as in "before" weight loss surgery, the up and downs, but healthy FOOD CHOICE diet. I do choose to eat the same thing every day, but I can switch it up if I need to with a couple of other food choices. I've stayed below 60 NET carbs, eating in the range of 1200-1500 depending on if I eat almonds/sunflower nuts/peanut butter that day. Remember, I work out every morning, or do some sort of daily exercise, except ONE complete rest day. I'm working on changing my emotional LIES that I tell myself- and replace the negative thoughts/messages with POSITIVE-- it's hard and I do struggle at times, but I try!

Goals:
1) Attend the support group at Tawnya's on June 17th - OVERCOME my fear of 'rejection' (all in my mind) and put myself out their personally

2) CUT the splenda out of the coffee--- BOUGHT THE BELIEVE PROTEIN COFFESS TO DIE FOR, YUMMY! No SPLENDA in my starbucks coffee if I get one or in my office coffees!

3) I already exercise daily: but after I workout and I didn't beat my time on  mile or 3 miles or I didn't do 4 rounds in the 20 minutes, etc... I BEAT myself up, "should've" "could've" or "would've" done better if... I am going to start CELEBRATING and REMINDING myself daily that

1) I am up exercising at 5:30 or 6 in the morning before work--
I could be sleeping in. At least I am doing it!
     2) I am becoming HEALTHIER
     3) I finished the workout despite how hard it is-- REGARDLESS of TIME-         i completed it!
     4) improving my self-esteem
*** THIS ONE IS REALLY TOUGH FOR ME, BUT THE PAYOUT IS HIGHER THAN THE TAX!!!***

4) Post Daily on the TMB and on the jumpstart for june thread--
     ACCOUNTABILITY for myself.
 (COMPLETED!)

5) For ONE month (no excuses-- I can't say 'tomorrow'):
Continue daily logging on fitday: no carbs. (CHECK)
Start daily exercise journaling that included feelings, and + affirmations
End of the day- daily journaling (it does not have to be perfect)

6) Weigh in 2 weeks on June 15 & 29- will post on the 15th

7) Give myself permission that I don't have to be "perfect"!

I do tell myself everyday that it's okay I don't have to be perfect...
