Tyler, Texas Can anyone tell me about it.

I got a job offer. And i was wondering can any one tell me about it. I know Tx can be HOT.  I have looked online  but i want to hear the REAL deal. Thanks you guys.

The Tyler area is beautiful.  Big (huge) pine trees, nice scenery, good lakes.  There's an incredible Mexican place called Mercado's that is a must!  It's on the loop.  Yes, it's hot - but where isn't?

In Oregon it isn't all that hot. MAYBE 3 weeks out of the year. So that will be a change. Thanks for heads up on the restaurant.

LOL  when we lived in Longview we went to Mecados all the time; that is where we would take everyone that came to visit...LOL

I'm from Ohio and it's very hot here, but sure beats -10 degrees and a foot of snow in Ohio in January.  :)  Tyler has a wonderful rose garden and also a great little zoo that was free last time I was there (Caldwell Zoo).  My daughters and I love going to that zoo and sometimes we take the 2 hour drive just to go there.

if you want to walk go ahead but you will get hot.
the people are real nice and the food is good.

That part of East Texas is great especially if you enjoy the outdoors.  There are a lot of lakes around that area.  You will also find several wineries,gardens and plantations.  It is within an hour or so of some amazing B&Bs, too.   Check out the chamber info. 

I live 40 min. from from Tyler what do you want to know specifically? It is hot and at times humid but there are hotter places in Texas down south. The trees are beautiful. Population about 100,000. You have most stores for shopping. Economy is still pretty good here. We haven't had a high foreclosers rate, so the real estate market is not flooded. Anything else?
