out of surgery and home but haven't lost weight?

I had my surgery on Monday and I have been home since Tuesday but I haven't lost any weight yet.  Does it take a few days after you are home for it to show up on the scale? I lost 15 pounds before surgery from the "liquid" diet.  When can I expect to see the scale move down?

I still can't believe that I did this...seems a little unreal to me.

My advice is stay off the scale for a week or two (I know it's hard) but you were pumped full of fluids and your body will need to release all of it too.  When the scale starts moving it move fairly fast.

Congrats on your surgery!

Honey, I gaines 8-10 lbs when I had my RNY!! Stay off the scale for a week at least to get the fluids out then you will see a drop. Everytime I go in the hospital I gain but it comes right off! Gallbladder--gained 17lbs in the hospital!!It is just rude!

Your body is in shock.  I know after week 2 and until week 5 I didnt' lose anything.  Once your body realizes this is the new you it will start cooperating.  Don't get discouraged.  It will come off.  All of our bodies are different.  Some people never stall.  Then there are those like me that stalled at least 5-7 days a month.  I think you are just bloated from all the fliuds you were give in the hospital.

Congratulations!  I weighed after surgery and was disappointed as well.  I retained a lot of fluid after my surgery.  Even now, I only weigh once a week at most.  I don't want to become a slave to my former enemy, the scale!  Hang in there.  It's only a number.  And the number will go down!
