The NIGH****CHMAN 6/4

Good evening all.  I am back home from vacation.  Had a great time, even if we did not win money.  Spent some at KMart, on base.  Did a little sightseeing in the Shreveport/Bossier City area.  Got a lot of reading to do, so let me proceed.

I am asking prayers for my son's MIL.  She is in the hospital in Fort Worth.  Oxygen level is low, heart rate is 140, blood cells are not being produced.  A transfusion might be in her future.

Prayer requests are listed below.

I do ask that you keep me updated on requests.  Often.  Please.

Also, please feel free to just visit here.  Tell us about how your day went.  Your successes.  Your failures.  Your fun.  Whatever.  When I post this thread, I do not have access to any chat programs, so this sometimes substitute as that vessel for me.

Continue to keep your thoughts and prayers for the members of our Armed Forces serving around the world, especially during this time of increased awareness.  Please thank God for these men and women every day.  In addition, please keep the wives and family members in your thoughts.

PEOPLE SEEKING EMPLOYMENT:

Avis
James - Phyllis' "friend"
Jennifer - (Cruise Director Julie)
Nina
Lynnette
Jeri

Those who are not yet unemployed, but layoffs are looming

Anne -(Lalocaweta) - Please pray for her as she undergoes treatment for a medical problem she is facing.

Cindy Mc - a coworker has a 5 yr old son who was diagnosed at 3 with Metastatic Retinoblastoma.  He lost his right eye, but through chemo and radiation it was thought the cancer was gone.  It is back and spreading in his brain.  There is no cure and they are treating him with some oral Chemo medication right now. I am just asking that you pray for Isaac Xavuer Vasques-Grimmett. He is a precious little boy who has been through a whole lot of difficult times in his 5 short years. We are praying for a miracle but if we can't get that... For God's mercy and grace to keep this precious little boy and his family from suffering too much. Update:  Isaac did not qualify for the program they were attempting to go to at St Jude's.  Please continiue prayers.

Dana - requests prayer for her sister, Renee.  She had tumor on her jaw removed.  Now needs jaw reconstruction on 7/23 - (10 hour surgery scheduled).

Debra - has been put on no work by doctor due to memory loss that is related to recent hospitalization.  Also, with the no work comes less pay.  Prayers for the financial side of the situation.

George - prayers for Oleta J., Brad's MIL.  Health issues.

Gina J. - Pray for her 6 year old Marina, diagnosed with a terminal illness at age 2. She has improved, but still needs our prayers.  Pray for this brave little girl.

Janet (1divaatheart) says her husband's tumor is shrinking (Praise God!).  Pray for her family as they deal with the passing of her father (5/17).

Karen (Misty750342002) - A friend of Karen's from work (who is like a son to her), Dustin Murphy, is 24 years old and has been diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease.

Prplecat asks prayer for her health battles as well as the family's move to Wichita Falls.

Vicki V.  - husband Patrick continues to have health problems.  Update on Patrick.  His most recent diagnosis from the neurologist is Ataxia and Neuropathy of the left side.  Which basically means he has virtually no feeling in his left leg and foot - probably the results of both a broken femur (more than 30 years ago) and his more recent heart and lung surgeries and the bed confinement from all of those.

Vanessa (Butterfly Reborn) - requests prayer for her family.  There were no specifics, but I am sure the Lord knows.

Vanessa - We have all followed the story of Elizabeth.  Here is her Caringbridge page:

George;

Welcome back. I'm watching the game. It's nearly 1/2 way over and Pittsburgh just tied it, so the score is 2-2.

I had a nice day today. Went downtown for lunch with my mom and step-dad and then we went to the fabric store. She and I were out a few weeks ago and there was a little girl (probably 5 or 6 years old) that had the cutest dress on that I'd ever seen. My mom said she could make me one like it but I needed to pick out the fabric. So hopefully, I'll have a super cute new dress in a week or so.

Pens just scored again. Grrr...they're leading 3-2.

I was supposed to go to a networking event tonight, but I decided to pass in favor of watching the game. I don't want a job in San Antonio anyway, so it didn't really seem like a good use of my time. Plus, I was a little worried that the creepy guy I interviewed with right after I lost my job would be there and I really don't want to encounter him again.

Michael comes home tomorrow. I'm looking forward to that. I'm not good at entertaining myself this much and the dogs have been total PITAs all week. I'm going to be glad to have some help with them.

Tomorrow, I have a baby shower to attend at my old office. I'm nervous about going to the point the mommy-to-be doesn't know that I may even show up (so she's not disappointed if I don't) and I told the hostesses not to include me in the count for lunch because I didn't want them to spend money and me not show. I know what I'm going to wear if I do actually make it. It's a dress I'd bought for the daytime events at the CLIO awards. Since I'd bought it with a gift card, I decided to keep it when I lost my job because returning it wasn't going to put any cash in my pocket. It's white, fabulous and will not be easily forgotten.

Je****he Wings are just falling apart this period. 4-2 Pens. I guess I need to be focusing on the game instead of posting. Three goals while I'm typing (less than 6 minutes) is just not cool.

I'll check in later. In the meantime, prayers for all who need them. I'm glad you're safely home. :)
Blessings, Jennifer

 Hey George -

Welcome back. :-)  What's a MIL?

And since I'm just getting active on the Texas Boards - after moving to Texas in 2007 - I have really done myself a disservice and not done what I needed to do to stay on the straight and narrow.

But I'm another century club member - 140 lbs later this whole process has been a miracle and a gift.

And I would never, ever go back.  :-)

My pleasure. It gave me some purpose this week. Although I felt really bad about being out later than I'd planned last night and not getting it started until after midnight.

Here, here!!!  Agree...Jen did a FABULOUS job at running the NW in your absence!!!

No more school for a bit!  HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!!  Heather starts driver's ed on Monday.  Oh my FREAKIN' gosh!!!!!!  Of course, my sister was like, "doesn't that make you feel old"?  I said, "what, that she's 16"?  She was like, "yeah, and starting to do "adult" things like driving"?  I said, "you know, honestly, it doesn't bother me A BIT!"  Maybe it's the WLS but I DON'T feel old AT ALL!  Do I feel tired and run down every once in a while?  SURE, but feeling "old", no way!

Need to get a load of towels into the dryer before hittin' the hay!

Glad you are back safe and sound.

Can you say "car insurance"?  My kids did not go to drivers ed until they graduated high school.  I could not afford a car and surely could not afford the insurance.  They were both cool with it.  Daughter bought her first car after her freshman year of college, and went to Sears Drivers School to learn how to drive at that time.
