Anyone taken the whole family?  Is it good for kids?  The hotel we're looking at is similar to the Great Wolf in Grapevine...it's got the indoor/outdoor water park in it and seems very family friendly.

My daughter loved it there.  Silver Dollar City was fun like a western six flags.  Also she loved the pirate boat bobery on lake tanycomo(can't spell)  It was allot of fun.

We went to Silver Dollar City when Hailey was 5, she's now 22 so QUITE a few years ago.  They told me one of the indoor roller coaster's was appropriate for a 5 year old and it turned out it was "though a BURNING BUILDING".  The poor kid had nightmares for WEEKS.  Other than that, we had a good time.  I'm sure that's not still there.  I believe there was also a cave nearby (Mammoth maybe?) and it was neat too.

Again, Kris it has been several (lots and lots) of years, but we did go 4 years in a role, because my middle elementary age kids had such a great time.  I am sure it is way different now, but we loved it. You know that any thing you do as a family, the kids will love.  Colorado is another great place. We loved, as well as New Mexico and Carlsbad -   Gaye

Much better choice IMHO.  You could drive thru Arkansas and stop and dig for a while, if you think you have to see the diamond fields....

We've actually had several vacations there and took the kids to the indoor water park at that same hotel.  It wasn't as big or fancy as Great Wolf, but we had a lot of fun!  Branson is a lot of fun too, but can get expensive, so if you are on a budget look for some deals online and try to buy advance tickets if you can.  It will save you a little money.

This time of year Hwy. 76 (the main strip that your hotel is on) is traffic city.  Be prepared to walk a lot of be stuck in traffic.  The new outlet mall by the river and the downtown area are not quite as packed and a lot of fun too!

Eureka Springs is not too far from Branson and it has some fun stuff too.

Have a nice vacation!

Girl. ... That is too funny. We are going to Branson in July. That is what we decided to do. We got a great deal with a online package. I actually went several years ago and loved it. I think the best thing about Branson is they have something for every single age.  We got the following all for only $980.00 for 3 people.
It is a lot to do. But, my step son is 15 so we need to stay busy.

Dixie Stampede ( I did it last time and love it!!!!!.. Great show) This includes a dinner.
Ride the Ducks
Dixie Queen Dinner and Cruise
Rail Tour thru the Ozarks
White Water Park
SIlver Dollar City for 2 day pass
Polinesian Fire Show with Dinner
Titanic Museum
Residence Inn for 5 days

Smile, it increases your face value.
