VSG surgery next tuesday.. do I back out?????
On top of that I'm scared that something will happen to me, and we dont have insurance so that may put even more of a financial burden on us as well and the thought that I could possibly( yea I know not likely) but possibly die from this ELECTIVE surgery is crazy to me! Am I really that desperate to risk my life and to have my kids not have a mother becuase I never took care of myself and have to result to surgery???? I'm lost and scared.. opinions anyone??
I am so sorry to hear about your struggles. It sounds to me like you need to sit down and talk to both your husband and Dad and see what they think. Your Dad probably has a good idea about the sale of the business and if there's any equity left in it. If they both encourage you to go ahead then I would. If they are really hesitant due to financial reasons, then it might be best to postpone it. You could alwys reschedule if the land sells quickly.
We all experienced the FEAR of going through the surgery and having the unexpected happen. What you are feeling is normal. I even had it when I went through my plastics. Try not to let that fear interfere with your decision. Put your trust and faith in your surgeon's hand and reputation. Please let us know what you decide. Even if you postpone it you can still try to lose weight through diet and exercise and we'll still be here for you.

I was self pay for my VSG surgery in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. This has been one of the best decisions of my life. We are not rolling in money but I considered it an investment towards good health.
Listen to your inner voice that is so powerful. Talk and talk some more to your family. Ask for total and complete honesty. You'll find your answers to this very personal decision. Best of luck with your journey!

As far as being scared, I was petrified. I wrote "goodbye" letters to my sons and my husband and was so scared. Stephanie calmed me down - and now I am so glad that I didn't bow out ... this surgery is a life changer...and you will be a stronger, happier wife, mother and woman for it! Good luck, God bless, and I am praying for all good things to come your way.
