Monday 6/1 Nigh****ch Assistant
Good evening everyone!
I had a pretty good Monday. Busy day. Took Michael to the airport at 4:40am, submitted for my biweekly unemployment, applied for the weekly required 5 jobs, got all of the switchplates back up in the living and dining rooms, shrink appointment, grocery store, Sonic, hit the RedBox to use my "free movie Monday" promo code, cut the grass in the front and back yards and watched "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here" which is wickedly funny and going to be my guilty pleasure for the next few weeks.
I'll be around for a while as I've still got a movie to watch. And, today, I had another person that is encouraging me to start writing a manuscript, so I may stay up and write a bit tonight or at least start putting together some timelines/outlines. I have *no idea* what I'm doing pursuing this, but hopefully it will at least be a fun outlet to keep me from wallowing.
Prayers for all who need them and one added prayer of Thanksgiving tonight for George and Mary and their wonderful 35 years of marriage. I don't think he'll mind that I share what he told me this morning. "Today I consider myself one happy lucky man. 35 years ago I married the most wonderful woman in the world. I look forward to many more amazing years." We should all be so blessed! Congrats George and Mary!
Prayer requests are listed below.
I do ask that you keep me updated on requests. Often. Please.
Also, please feel free to just visit here. Tell us about how your day went. Your successes. Your failures. Your fun. Whatever. When I post this thread, I do not have access to any chat programs, so this sometimes substitute as that vessel for me.
Continue to keep your thoughts and prayers for the members of our Armed Forces serving around the world, especially during this time of increased awareness. Please thank God for these men and women every day. In addition, please keep the wives and family members in your thoughts.

Those who are not yet unemployed, but layoffs are looming
Anne -(Lalocaweta) - Please pray for her as she undergoes treatment for a medical problem she is facing.
Cindy Mc - a coworker has a 5 yr old son who was diagnosed at 3 with Metastatic Retinoblastoma. He lost his right eye, but through chemo and radiation it was thought the cancer was gone. It is back and spreading in his brain. There is no cure and they are treating him with some oral Chemo medication right now. I am just asking that you pray for Isaac Xavuer Vasques-Grimmett. He is a precious little boy who has been through a whole lot of difficult times in his 5 short years. We are praying for a miracle but if we can't get that... For God's mercy and grace to keep this precious little boy and his family from suffering too much. Update: Isaac did not qualify for the program they were attempting to go to at St Jude's. Please continiue prayers.
Dana - requests prayer for her sister, Renee. She had tumor on her jaw removed. Now needs jaw reconstruction on 7/23 - (10 hour surgery scheduled).
Debra - has been put on no work by doctor due to memory loss that is related to recent hospitalization. Also, with the no work comes less pay. Prayers for the financial side of the situation.
Gina J. - Pray for her 6 year old Marina, diagnosed with a terminal illness at age 2. She has improved, but still needs our prayers. Pray for this brave little girl.
Janet (1divaatheart) says her husband's tumor is shrinking (Praise God!). Pray for her family as they deal with the passing of her father (5/17).
Karen (Misty750342002) - A friend of Karen's from work (who is like a son to her), Dustin Murphy, is 24 years old and has been diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease.
Prplecat asks prayer for her health battles as well as the family's move to Wichita Falls.
Vicki V. - husband Patrick continues to have health problems. Update on Patrick. His most recent diagnosis from the neurologist is Ataxia and Neuropathy of the left side. Which basically means he has virtually no feeling in his left leg and foot - probably the results of both a broken femur (more than 30 years ago) and his more recent heart and lung surgeries and the bed confinement from all of those.
Vanessa (Butterfly Reborn) - requests prayer for her family. There were no specifics, but I am sure the Lord knows.
Vanessa - We have all followed the story of Elizabeth. Here is her Caringbridge page:

Hey Jen!
What a productive day you had! I think you should pursue the writing thing too.
Happy Anniversary to George and Mary! 35 years is awesome!!!!
I need to be added to the list of the unemployed - official as of 5/29. I refuse to be sad about it. Just pushes me to pursue my dream, which is something I might have not done. As my official day one - I drove home, picked up my son, came home and unloaded the car, went to dinner, Target, took Danson back to his Dad's to drop off a bday present he picked out for his Dad. I guarantee this was the thought that counts - Danson didn't even get me a card for my bday. NOT trying to score keep, but are you serious? lol
I need to file for unemployment and am trying as soon as I find the website. Sheesh!

I added you to the prayer list. Sorry about the birthday thing, but remember good deeds bring good things. It's really not worth keeping score.
I just finished "Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist". I *loved* it. Good NY scenery. Two of my favorite eateries made an appearance. Great tunes! If I was still traveling, I'd buy it to keep with me on the road.
I've seen the link you sent me on FB before. Hilarious!
I'll be up for a while if you want to chat.

Evenin' Jen~~~
School year is winding down. Thursday is it! HALLELUJAH!!!!! I'm exhausted. Went to the gym at 9 am, then back home, finished laundry, more errands, etc. Need to get to bed at a decent hour tonight!
Definitely sad to read the news on that big Air France flight. Don't know if they will ever find out what happened. Must have been something quick if the pilot never even had a chance to mayday in. Sad...
Ok, too much yawnin' here, need to go crawl up to bed!

Jill;
You must be relieved you're in your last few days of packing lunches for a while.
Have they found out any additional info on the AF flight? Last I heard was still earlier in the day and they'd sent the Brasilian equivalent of the Coast Guard out to search. I'll have to check the news services before I turn in.
Good job on the gym. I missed today because I didn't have my class on my calendar when I made my shrink appt a couple weeks ago. My class is at 12:15 and I made a 1pm appt, so I skipped the gym and cut the front and backyards for my exercise today. Must've been a good workout as I ate more food tonight than I normally do, but my body was hungry and this far out I've learned if it's hungry, feed it!
I hope you get some good rest.
