Terry, the ring story even brought tears to MY eyes!!  What a thoughtful thing to do.  I know it meant more to him than any other gift he received.  Enjoy your day, sure wish I was on the coast with you but I'll have to make do with the cement "gulf" in my backyard....I can almost hear the waves and seagulls...

Gotta share my pass it on story...

When my Mom died, I got the dinner ring Mom had made out of her wedding rings.  The diamonds were wonderful, but the setting was not my taste.  I wore it a couple of times and put it away.

When Chris fell in love and wanted to give Jennifer a ring, I gave him the diamonds with one restricition.  The diamonds could not be cut down.  He found a jewler that made a setting for them and Jennifer was so pleased with them.  Her family has nothing that has been passed down and she was so happy to have my Mom's diamonds.  I am proud she wears them with pride.

Now if she would just make me a grandma....

I have my grandmother's wedding ring.  It's a one carat "perfect" diamond set in Rose Gold.  It's gorgeous but she must of been really tiny cuz there's no way I can wear it.  Because it's rose gold I can't have it sized without sending it away and that scares me.  So I just take it out and look at it every once in a while.

Can you have the setting melted down to a nugget and put the diamond in the center and wear it with a chain?

I have a nugget that came from my grandmother...but was the gold bridge to her tooth.... had it made into a nugget, left the tooth in it and put a little diamond in the middle....one of a kind, I'd say.

It's just a shame to have something you cherish and cannot wear.  When I'm troubled my 'nugget' goes around my neck... and I wear it with perfect calm and peace.

Janet I thought about that but's it's the prettiest florentine setting and I hate to destroy it.  I can wear it on my pinkie but I prefer to keep it in a safe place.  Someday it will go to my daughter.

Good morning everyone!!!  Yesterday was a busy day!  Spent some much needed time with my mom yesterday morning and then spent the rest of the day helping Donna move!  Wow that girl has alot of stuff...  they are going to be busy today finishing up I'm sure.  

Yesterday was also my 1 year surgiversary and I was down 96lbs!  I missed my 100lb mark but I am soooooooooooooo happy with what I have accomplished!  It's been an amazing year and I can't wait to see what this year holds.

Off to the grocery store now so I can get home and start cleaning house!! Fun, fun, fun...

Guess I'll bring up the caboose tonight.

The weekend was just a blur of high school graduations.  We didn't do anything special except spend time with family and friends celebrating the accomplishments of the 2009 seniors.  Still have a couple of more cards to get in the mail where we couldn't make the commencement exercises, but we could only be in so many places at a time this weekend.

Trip into PA was uneventful.  Actually left DFW on time and arrived 30 minutes early!  YEEHAW!!  It was just getting dark when I got in the apartment.  Now it'll take me a couple of hours to unwind and get ready for bed.  5am will come early on Monday, as usual.

Trying to catch up on the happenings over the weekend 'cuz I never got a chance to check the board at all.
