Rejoining the straight and narrow

 So - I had my RNY in Michigan in 2005.  I've been in Texas since 2007 and largely absent from OH - but lately I've realized the following:

*  just because you had WLS does not make you the same as all the thin people at work
*  when you complete the plastic reconstruction - you may have a whole new level of *issed off that you didn't face before
*  in the end - I need support - from people who have been there/done that/bought the shirt.

You don't know me from a hole in the ground.  I get that.  And I haven't lurked/earned my stripes.

I'm just hoping you'll be kind enough to point me to the following places I can not find on OH - 

-  The Texas Board.  (No worries - I believe I'm posting there.)
- Local Support - I'm in Bay Area Houston - but I've politely begged to join the group out of Pasadena so that is a start.
-  Is there still an OH section for married people whose spouse is having trouble adjusting?  It's been 4 years and multiple surgeries - with no support.  And I am so tired of carrying it all.  

And yes - I've recommended this place over the years to others who came with questions.  This place is the ultimate pay it forward.

Welcome aboard/back aboard/to the TMB!!!

We take all people here pretty much regardless of your location as well, because here on the TMB we are all fighting the same "war"...TOGETHER.

Glad you've come here and hope to see you often.  The Pasadena group is a great group of peeps here on the board(crazy but great).  Don't let Sean's odd clothing choices scare you off...most every group of weirdos has 1 who wears outlandish polyester pants right?

Oh wait - all my cool Chico's dresses are some kind of totally unnatural blend.  That's kind of key to wrinkle removal when traveling.  :-)

In all honesty - I would just be grateful to spend time with other people in my shoes.  I couldn't possibly care less about blends - of course - with the exception of chafing.  In which case I am totally against chafing.

Hi Michele - I live near your neck of the woods in Friendswood - good to see you posting!

I go to the Pasadena Support Group and it has vets and newbies and a great group of folks to chat with.  I won't be at the June meeting since I will be on vacation, but I hope to get to meet you in person in July!

Sorry to hear your spouse is not adjusting well.  If I was still married to my ex I would be in the same situation because he couldn't even handle me losing 50 pounds on WW without driving me insane.

Welcome to the TMB.   It is great.    There are lots of support groups around the Houston area or at least that is what I seem to read on here.   Welcome back to OH.    As for the hubby issue.   I have experienced it ALL !!!!   Hubby asking me if I wanted a divorce after my weight loss.....then again after my LBL !!!  Gee....you would think after 30 yrs of marriage he would get over it.   LOL    I will look and see if I can see a messageboard for spouses having issues after WLS...but to tell you the turth....I have not seen one but then I wasn't looking either.   I wish you luck and please don't be a lurker.    Thanks for posting...Great group of folks on the TMB although most are MIA on the weekends !!!

Michele....If you will go to the Forums above and click on weight loss surgery related....there are 2 messageboards that pertain to Spouses...maybe one of them will give you the answers you need.    I will keep you in my prayers......I know first hand the stress that you are feeling.

 So - thanks to all for the welcome.

I realized this week that just because I'm thinner - it's not like I'm thin because I was born that way.

And that I need support because this is hard journey alone.

So I am deeply grateful for the welcome.

 Meet at the starbucks at fairmont and the beltway... in the target parking lot.

Pasadena Support Group 2nd Monday at 7pm & 4th Saturday at 10am

on the saturday one, they usually go walking or some other activity
