Karla,

Tuna salad is a good idea. Don't know why I don't make it more often I love it. The scale was very kind to me this morning I'm actually 3lbs under goal. Now tomorrow may be a different story. But don't think I lost it in a healthy way. The past few days I just wasn't hungry and did not eat much. Goal today is to eat 5 small meals throughout the day focusing on protein. Going to buy meatballs at IKEA. Tomorrow Chad is cooking a brisket and I'm making the baked beans so will try and eat.

Your loved!

Morning karla and Lynnette and anyone else (?)

Yesterday was okay.. but soup got thrown out at the end of the day.  Had enough of that business.  Last night was desperation to ahve something different so I found an individual cheese pizza in the freezer and some ground beef.. threw that together and cooked it.  NOT good and I was dumping big time. Not sure why but it was a good lesson.

Scale is down from Tuesday by 3 pounds so I am happy with that.  Time to start over at the grocery with healthy yet yummo stuff.. I have lots of tuna, Karla, so maybe I will do some of that again.  I ate so much of that right out of surgery so I gave it a long rest.

Ready to Jumpstart June.. what is everyone else's plan?

I knew not preparing for the day would bring challenges and it did.  I had to many carbs (not good ones).  The quantity wasn't much as I haven't been very hungry, the choices could of been better.

We are having boiled crabs for lunch today, not sure what tonight will be.  I haven't eaten anything yet today so I better grab a shake and get those vitamins in.

Afternoon everyone...(well to all 3 of you that MIGHT read this).  Good news first...I weigh the exact same today as I did on May 1st so I guess maintanence is working so far.

Yesterday I thought long and hard about "portion control" and took a step in the right direction.  I brought 2 pieces of bread and a bowl of egg salad to work for lunch.  When lunchtime came I decided to try a 1/2 sandwich only and wait 30 minutes and if I was still hungry, I could have the rest.  Well guess what?  30 minutes passed and I forgot about the other half.  Next thing I knew it was dinnertime.  I cut 3 oz of steak and 1/3 of a baked potato and put them on my plate.  Once again, I was full.  Now normally (for those that don't know me) I eat a LOT more food than this.  So for me, this was major portion control.  SO I think for June that will be one of my goals.

Anyway, I'm defrosting shrimp and will be having them grilled for dinner.  Better think of something to go with them...

steph,

That's an excellent way to do it. I know I am continously dealing with more head hunger/portion control than real hunger.

I do the exact same thing with the sandwich stuff at work.  I take the two slices of bread and 2 cheese, 2 ham and/or turkey, pickles, tomatoes..  BUT I fix only one for lunch.  Then I put the rest away for my afternoon break 2 1/2 hours later if I feel I need it.  Most times I do but it saves me eating the whole thing at noon then MORE at break.

I know for me it's a matter of taking the TIME for me to plan and listen to my stomach and not my head.

i got some shrimp too but i'm not sure what to do with them.

Good job girlie.

Thanks Bec.  What to do with your shrimp?  We marinate ours in lemon/garlic/butter and grill them...OMG, to die for.  You could also boil them and have shrimp coctail.  (Just boil them until pink-too long and they're tough).  Do you have a broiler in your oven?  I bet you could broil them instead of grilling.  Or you could even saute them in a frypan.  I eat a lot of shrimp cuz they're low calorie and high protein.  Marie Callendars now makes a shrimp scampi over linguini that's really not too bad for us.  It has 380 calories, 16 gm of protein, 1gm sugar.  The carbs are high cuz of the pasta but for an occasional meal I love it.

I don't usually do anything but boil and chill.  I got spoiled when we lived in Port A and we would marinade in this Yoshidas stuff from Sams and it was soo incredible.  We would grill them and they were sweet and tangy.

I will get creative somehow. Its a big bag and I will get lots of meals out of it while Emm is gone.
