Friday 5/29 Nigh****ch Assistant Reporting for Duty!
Hey all. I'm covering for George while he's on vacation.
My day was good. I went to Austin with Lisa for her first PS consult. We had a nice drive up, lunch, she went to her appt while I read and a great drive back. It was good for me to get out of the house and spend time with a wonderful friend. And, it was a perfect day to be out. Bright, sunny and just gorgeous out.
I'll be around until at least midnight as I'm on the air with the radio station. While George is gone, please keep me updated on your prayer requests so I can give George the updated list when he returns.
Prayers for all who need them. Now, tell me about your day and your weekend plans!
Prayer requests are listed below.
I do ask that you keep me updated on requests. Often. Please.
Also, please feel free to just visit here. Tell us about how your day went. Your successes. Your failures. Your fun. Whatever. When I post this thread, I do not have access to any chat programs, so this sometimes substitute as that vessel for me.
Continue to keep your thoughts and prayers for the members of our Armed Forces serving around the world, especially during this time of increased awareness. Please thank God for these men and women every day. In addition, please keep the wives and family members in your thoughts.
PEOPLE SEEKING EMPLOYMENT:
Avis
James - Phyllis' "friend"
Jennifer - (Cruise Director Julie)
Nina
Lynnette
Those who are not yet unemployed, but layoffs are looming
Anne -(Lalocaweta) - Please pray for her as she undergoes treatment for a medical problem she is facing.
Cindy Mc - a coworker has a 5 yr old son who was diagnosed at 3 with Metastatic Retinoblastoma. He lost his right eye, but through chemo and radiation it was thought the cancer was gone. It is back and spreading in his brain. There is no cure and they are treating him with some oral Chemo medication right now. I am just asking that you pray for Isaac Xavuer Vasques-Grimmett. He is a precious little boy who has been through a whole lot of difficult times in his 5 short years. We are praying for a miracle but if we can't get that... For God's mercy and grace to keep this precious little boy and his family from suffering too much. Update: Isaac did not qualify for the program they were attempting to go to at St Jude's. Please continiue prayers.
Dana - requests prayer for her sister, Renee. She had tumor on her jaw removed. Now needs jaw reconstruction on 7/23 - (10 hour surgery scheduled).
Debra - has been put on no work by doctor due to memory loss that is related to recent hospitalization. Also, with the no work comes less pay. Prayers for the financial side of the situation.
Gina J. - Pray for her 6 year old Marina, diagnosed with a terminal illness at age 2. She has improved, but still needs our prayers. Pray for this brave little girl.
Janet (1divaatheart) says her husband's tumor is shrinking (Praise God!). Pray for her family as they deal with the passing of her father (5/17).
Karen (Misty750342002) - A friend of Karen's from work (who is like a son to her), Dustin Murphy, is 24 years old and has been diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease.
Prplecat asks prayer for her health battles as well as the family's move to Wichita Falls.
Vicki V. - husband Patrick continues to have health problems. Update on Patrick. His most recent diagnosis from the neurologist is Ataxia and Neuropathy of the left side. Which basically means he has virtually no feeling in his left leg and foot - probably the results of both a broken femur (more than 30 years ago) and his more recent heart and lung surgeries and the bed confinement from all of those.
Vanessa (Butterfly Reborn) - requests prayer for her family. There were no specifics, but I am sure the Lord knows.
Vanessa - We have all followed the story of Elizabeth. Here is her Caringbridge page:

Hey,
Just getting caught up on the boards and facebook. I've taken a few days just to unplug and rest. I think all the "challenges" in the past few months caught up with me. Tomorrow the plan is to go to IKEA in Frisco and to Sprouts planning on dragging hubby along. Add me to the prayer list for job hunting. I've started getting serious about looking. Hope everyone gets a good nights sleep,
Your loved!
Lynnette
I'm glad you've been able to unplug and chill. I updated the job seekers list and added you.
Have fun @ IKEA tomorrow. I *love* IKEA and since the closest one to us is Round Rock, I've only been once. Maybe once we get moved and settled, I'll be there with you guys on Saturday mornings. :)

Hey Jen!!!
Finally Friday! This was the kids' last "regular" week of school. Next week they only go until Thursday. My oldest has finals week so she goes in and gets out at odd hours, only having to go there for specific class periods depending open which classes she had to take finals for. Some she was able to exempt. Man, we never had the LUXURY of exempting any finals. We had one for every class and that was that. DD's 2 and 3 will go all day M-W and then Thursday is the last day, but only half a day. The oldest starts DRIVER'S ED on Monday the 8th. OMG!!!!!!!!
Went to the gym with DD #2 three days this week. She NEEDS to take this weight loss class and the director of the program felt she would be more successful if I took it with her. Whatever. I'd crawl on my hands and knees across the desert if I knew it would help her. That's just what mom's do I guess. It is a fitness class ON a treadmill. The only thing I've seen on me is a GAIN of like 4 pounds! I refuse to panic though. Figure with the heat and the new routine, the body is holding onto some water!!! HATE seeing that scale go up though.
Tomorrow is the LAST day of Sarah's (the 7 yr. old) soccer season. YIPPEE!! Her game is smack dab in the middle of the hot afternoon though. Before heading there, I have to get two 9 x 13 cakes and a huge tray of cookies over to our church. A member of our church passed away on Memorial Day and she had a huge family all over the US so a lot of them had to travel, some not even getting in until today. I got a call asking if I could provide a bunch of desserts which luckily for me, sweets are not really my "thing" so it was ok to be around them. Now, trying to make my family understand that they CANNOT get into them....a difficult task!!! Hopefully someone will be there in the morning so I can take things over there before Sarah's game. Really don't want to miss the last game! May have to find out where one of the organizers of the meal lives and take the stuff over to her house in the morning. One way or another, it will all work out.
Hope you all have a FANTASTIC weekend! Thanks for filling in for our NW George. Hope he and Mary have a great vacation in Shreveport and a good visit with their friend!

Wow! I could never exempt finals either. What a wonderful luxury!
Sounds like you've had a crazy busy week. I'm familiar with TEAM Weight Loss at Lifetime and give you tons of credit. I don't think I could ever do it. I'm very into my workouts but I've seen people doing it and it requires much more coordination than I have. I can totally see launching myself off of a treadmill because I was trying to coordinate doing my weights while walking. It's just not a good scene for me.
I'm on the funeral meals ministry for my church, too, and since I only know how to bake, I always make something that I couldn't eat to take up there. Is that wrong?
Try to get some rest this weekend and enjoy!

When I was born, I cried and the world rejoiced. Now i wanna live my life so that when I die, the world cries and I rejoice
Yep, the TEAM Weight Loss program is exactly what it is. At ours, they let you do it on a trial version for an entire MONTH before they hit you up for the $166.50 a month (and it's a three month total program). I want to see how DD #2 does before spending that kind of money. OH, and coordination....well, I think I am THE only one that has to hold on for dear life when the chick makes us walk BACKWARDS on that treadmill. OMG, that screws up my balance for sure! Most of the others can do it pretty good, although a few were VERY close to the end and the instructor kept hollering at them to take bigger steps backwards or they were going to end up in a heap off the back end! I don't know what is worse, trying to manage the weights, or that stupid figure 8 power band. SHEEEEESH! I know it is doing something because my class was at 9 am and I'm STILL feeling the "burn" in my leg! She actually took us off about 10 min. before class was over and made us go do some abdominal work on the floor using the mats. That was ok, but a lot of the things she wanted us to do, for me, was very uncomfortable as I was putting pressure on my LBL scar which still ouchies from time to time. Those anchor stitches that stay in there still can pull! I can really only participate in the exercise part because there is NO WAY I could eat all the food they want them to eat at each sitting. Obviously that plan is for "regular" people with "regular" bellies like my daughter. She has had quite an adjustment this week, but does say that after this first week, she is NOT hungry as there is plenty of food, and she is not tired. She has had to put a snack in about 9:30 as she was eating breakfast at 6:15 before school, then nothing until her 12:30 lunch and that was too long. She added a protein and fruit at 9:30 and that has made a huge difference for her. Who would think two simple things would make such a difference. She hasn't gotten on the scale either so who knows if she has lost. I've been on and seen the damn thing go UP so I'm not too thrilled with the scale right now! UUUGH!
OH..and the baking, no guilt and feel GREAT that I am helping out a family in their time of grief and sorrow. I love to bake but don't do much anymore so glad when I can, even though the situation isn't the best reason to have to be baking. Guess it's the least we can do!
Hoping some of that rest will fall my way too!!!

You know, I've never asked if they would allow a "trial" before charging at ours, but I'm sure they're not that different. I've actually thought of applying for a sales job there because I did weight 189 when I joined and figure just showing my old membership card is one hell of a closing tool. lol
I'm glad she is doing well with it. That's great that adding the 9:30 snack is making a difference and you're a rockin' mom for doing the trial with her. I'm sending you both long distance cheers and if necessary will don my cheerleader costume!
Don't worry about the scale. It may just be your muscles retaining fluid because they're trying to recover from being used differently.
