One of my husbands friends just e-mailed us an old photo of us pre WLS.  This one was taken before I had my daughter but after I had lost 60 some odd pounds on Nutrisystem and actually thought I looked "good"!   All I can say is, "THANK GOODNESS FOR WLS!"   Not just for myself but for my husband too!

I know how you feel.  I have a picture on my profile of me in a pair of capri's I wore before surgery.  I am amazed at the fact that I thought I looked good in those pants.LOL  Now if I could just feel like I look good in the clothes I can wear now.  Do you have issues with seeing how you look now that you have had surgery???  I still feel fat and rolls.

unfortunately I am 20-25 pounds from goal and it bothers me to no end.  I am trying not to resort to old bad habits to loose the 20 pounds (starving, fasting, excessive exercise, etc).  I am stil breastfeeding so that keeps me from trying any extremes.   I am in a 12 or 10 depending on the day and brand but I still fight the feeling that it isn't "good enough"  And to think I was once 340 pounds and in a 24-26!  Yet a 12 or 10 isn't GOOD ENOUGH!  Crazy thinking but I can't seem to help it.

I think when we are obese, it is kind of a blessing that many of us don't see how truly bad we look.  I know when I was my heaviest, if I didn't believe I looked half decent, I would have never left the house.

Now I am wearing size 14's and probably perceive myself to be much heavier that I actually am.  It is interesting how that works.

I accually have my husband point out woman who are my size or larger - I have no mental image of what I look like that works with reality- either I think I look awsome and am crushed when I see a mirror OR I think I still look like I did at 400 pounds

you are right that nursing helps I know if I go supper low carb not only do i not feel so great but I have an unhappy little one to boot - btw did you know that breastmilk is made up mostly of carbs? something I discovered AFTER I did the 5 day pouch test when Rach was less than 6 months old
Home is where the army allows me to live with my husband

I know what I need to do - I have to choose to take care of me or I choose to fail
