post op day 6-down over 10%
So I have been weighing myself each evening.....I know not the greatest idea but it is exciting right now to see how fast it is coming off. So, as of last night I am down 10.5lbs that is just over 10% of what I need to loose.
I am excited about this and worried. Mom says not to worry b/c it is mostly water weight but that just seems a lot to me.
I'm struggling getting in enough protein but today came to work armed with unflavored and vanilla protein powder to mix in EVERY meal. I have a thing about gritty food but I figure right now I am only eating 2oz so I can get it down.
Hey Miranda...
Glad to see ya' up and about!!! No worries about you losing too fast, trust me, that comes to a screeching halt when the body WANTS to stop, half the time we all wi**** wouldn't stop when it does! I lost something like 18 pounds after the first month. I would definitely ditch the scale this early though. Getting addicted to the scale this early will literally drive you NUTS later on because sometimes the scale fluctuates up and down throughout the week. As far as protein goes, I started using one recently that I really like. I'm with you, if it is gritty, FORGET IT! BLECH. It's Optimum Nutrition Vanilla Ice Cream flavor. There are a ton of different flavors though. This one, to me, mixed in with 8 oz. of milk literally tastes like you had a bowl of ice cream that you let sit and melt and then you drink it. I really like it! If you want to try it without having to buy a container of it, just let me know and I'll somehow get some to your mom.
Take it easy today. You will tire out easy so rest when your body says to rest. In that busy office, that's going to be hard but be sure to listen to what it tells you to do!

Lynne, is this the one you tried. I've used it and didn't find it gritty at all. I purchased mine from GNC but here it is online too.

The Optimum Nutrtion can be ordered here also, but locally GNC carries it. I love the Optimum Nutrition, Vanilla Ice Cream rocks!
