I haven't had plastics, but I did have some lipo done.  Lipo is not nearly as severe and I HURT for two or more weeks.  I mean really HURT.  So I would have to think the pain is normal, but you should be able to get some relief with pain meds.  Are you taking anything?  You don't have to be a brave little soldier.  Call the office and get them to write you a scrip if you don't have one.

Charlene....Hon take your pain meds on a regular schedule if you need them.   There is NO need at all for you to be in pain.   I have a extremely high pain tolerance so I took very little but trust me...even I took pain meds.   You have been cut in half especially if you have your butt lifted.   That sounds like a LBL not a TT !!!!  That is extremely painful.    I know I had pain from it for about a month or more ( trying not to scare you ).     Maybe I should have said I was uncomfortable rather than in pain.   Keep moving around....the more you move the more use to the "new size" your skin will become.    It will get better trust me although it will take time.    Also It will usually take you a year or right at that to see the "final results" of the good doc's work.   Good luck hon and be patient.    I know it is hard to do.

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

After many surgeries my mom swears to stay on top of the pain to take the pain meds before the pain comes back. If you can take it every 6 hours then take it  on scedule. It will keep the pain from becoming unbearable. I can't even imagine the pain involved in PS. Take it easy...do you have help at home? If so use it...your body needs the rest!!!

I have a very high pain tolerance compared to the general population and I was on pain meds for 12 days after my tummy tuck and breast lift. You need to be walking more than once/day. Not far, but make sure you're up and walking at least every other hour. I used to do 10 laps around the downstairs of my house - I have a hallway that goes from my kitchen to living room, family room and dining room.

You want to feel tight. The tighter you feel now, the better results you'll have for the long term. I would be concerned about the leakage. At 10 days out, all of my incisions were completely closed and we'd already started scar therapy.

charlene everyone has given you great advice....take the pain meds like the dr prescribed them...do not slack off.... you do need to walk.... that is the best way to heal.....not far but walk....

i had a tummy tuck and breast lift and the tt was more painful than the breast lift....it will take time to heal....

thank you right now i do need the prayers...

I agree with the others.  Keep on top of the pain.  Take the meds as prescribed even if you think you can skip a dose don't. Once it is out of your system it takes times to get back to a pain free state.  Set an alarm clock if necessary, even throughout the night.  Don't make it tougher that it needs be.  That being said, if you are doing that already ask your doctor if the dose is too low.

I had plastics in October and my pain was certainly tolerable with my meds.   What meds are you on?  Obviously they aren't strong enough.  Ask for liquid Lortab, it works wonders.  I had no appetite for a couple of weeks, that part is normal.

Charlene,

I just had my tummy tuck and butt lift October 30.. but honestly, I don't remember being  in a lot of pain.  I had one of those Q pumps and it was wonderful.  I took 1/2 hydracodone every 2-4 hours for about a week.  I was uncomfortable for the tubes and I had four... and had them for about 2 1/2 weeks.  They weren't fun but when I figured out how to clean them and work around them, even showering wasn't a problem.

I'm sorry you are in so much pain.  It is uncomfortable feeling like you are wearing a really tight girdle all the time.  Mine has loosened up a lot but I still have times it's tight.

Hope you get to feeling better.

Janet
