How do you remember your Vits??

This has been one of my struggles.........when I am at work, I take them like clock work but home.....ugh (I need to work on that).  I have 2 sets (one @ work and one @ home)  When I am at home (weekends, holiday, etc) I just forget........

I have started programming my phone to alert me when it is time to take them.  It is helping on the days I am not at work.

We are going on vacation next week, I have my vitamins packed and phone on alert......so hopefully I will do OK.

I think about Debra and the others with deficiencies....that normally does it....I can usually remember to take them with my meals....I think about it when I am in the pick up line at schools. So if I have forgotten any I take them then....

Hi Cutie Que! Great post! It'a alsways good to get vitamin reminders out there.

Like some of the others, I have 2 sets of my daytime vits -- One set I keep at my desk so I can see them as soon as I arrive at work. The other set is at home on my kitchen counter so I see them as soon as I make coffee on my days off. The evening vits go in my pill reminder box to take with my evening meds.

VITAMINS ARE ESSENTIAL--PLEASE DON'T FORGET THEM!!!!!!!

 I'm serious!

XOXO

My regime is similar to the Cruise Director, Jennifer.

Only difference is I put them in an old RX bottle, throw it in my lunch kit and then set it out on my desk during the day.  I take my calcium #1 when I get to work, an hour later I take multi-vit #1 and B12, an hour later calcium #2, an hour or so later multi-vit #2, then calcium #3 and about 3 hours later, more or less I take my iron on the way home spaced out from all my milk products, etc.  This has become so automatic, that some days I look at my bottle and have to think, did I take it or did it just disappear?  LOL

On the weekends, I set the RX bottle on the counter in the kitchen or take it with me in the car.

I fill 15 - 17 bottles every couple of weeks so I can just grab and go each morning.

Being sleeved, I don't have quite the number of vitamins to take as you RNY'ers, but I do take morning and night.  I keep them in my makeup bag - morning face goes on, vits go in; evening face comes off, vits go in.

I use the 7 day pill boxes and carry it in my purse.  That works well for me since I almost always have my purse with me no matter what so when I'm running around on the weekends I have them right there next to me.  I also have an outlook reminder that pops up midday at work basically just to remind me to take them if I forgot to take them that morning.

I take my other med plus my heartburn, a vitamin, and a calcium when I get up (after I eat).   Six hours later, an alarm rings on my cell phone reminding me to take my other calcium.  As of right now my surgeon says I do not need additional iron.

For me the secret is ROUTINE.  I have to do it exactly the same way every day or I forget.  I have a box with all my meds in it right next to my chair in the living room.  I take the first batch as soon as I get up in the morning.  Then I take the rest after each meal.  I have some individual pill boxes for when I travel and I put enough for one day in each box.

Que, you may need to be careful about leaving them in the car.  It seems to me that the Texas heat might have an effect on their potency.  I'm not sure, just thinking.
