You'll kinda feel foamy in the mouth - dry cottoney...............this happens to me when I eat too fast....or too much................I think.......I don't get them too often.........but I just usually chill out and they are gone in about 30 min.........
  • Pease check out Dr. Connie Stapleton's Website. A lot of good information on there for all WLS patients regardless of the surgery you chose.  Good luck to all and I'm here for you if you want to send me an email.  I'll answer it as soon as possible.

I've never had them.  I heard others say it's like they keep spitting up spit.  It's due to eating to fast and possibly having food stuck.  I've been VERY fortunate to have minimual food intolerance, the only food ever stuck for me is beef roast twice.  I've only thrown up 3 times and two of them were because I stuck my finger in my throat to ge the beef roast out, gosh that was painful.

I have only had them once and I kept getting foam coming up from my pouch and into my mouth - yuk!

What caused it was we were having grilled chicken (which gets stuck easily) and I was mad at my youngest boy and wasn't concentrating on chewing well.  I probably ate too fast, too much and it wasn't chewed up well.

Papaya enzymes help a LOT when that happens.  You can get the chewables at Wal Mart - well worth having some around.

Foamies happen more with lapbands than RNY.  I had a lapband first and got them daily, yuck!!  Since my bypass, I've never had them.

Foamies are almost like you are spitting up foamy spit.  It kinda looks like the foam at the top of a carbonated sprite if you were to pour it really fast into a glass that is how I would descibe the look of it.  I have had it happen when eatting too much and getting over full.  It is not too fun   I have VSG which I love.

I used to get them all the time - not as bad anymore 3 yrs out I am better at knowing what I cna't eat - ok so sometimes

I just have tons of foamie spit in my mouth that won't go away - I usally grab a dishtowel and spit into it  - I normally have them with dumping so I feel like crap anyhow and spit till I can sleep if I am at home

on the plus side if I foam I don't puke but they last longer - kinda balances out
Home is where the army allows me to live with my husband

I know what I need to do - I have to choose to take care of me or I choose to fail
