I know later this morning lots of his patients will give you input. He is going to be my husband's surgeon in June for the VSG. I've heard alot of wonderful things about him from others both online and people I met from here locally. He is super nice, gives you lots of information, has support groups, and a great surgeon. He mostly operates in Dallas now, out of Forrest Park Hospital (near 75 and 635) which was one concern because its in Dallas. But, we went there a few weeks ago for Bryan's EGD and it is a great facility-top notch care from what we experienced.
Good luck finding a surgeon.

Yes, I used Dr. Kim.  I had RNY done in April 08.  I dont have any cons............I knew this was something I needed to do and I did it.  This has been one of the BEST things I have ever done in my life.

Dr. Kim and his staff are the best.  Dr. Kim really cares about his patients and his staff is always there to help.  You are in GREAT hands.

Hi Stephanie,

I am 3 1/2 yrs post op RNY and Dr. Kim is my surgeon !!!   He is Fantastic !!!!  He is a very caring doctor and so are his staff.    He has great support groups and he wants everyone to be a success story.    He gives you tips on how to keep the weight coming off while you are losing it.    I really don't think that you could find a better doctor.     I lost 140 and have been successful in maintaining most of that weight loss.   I am now trying to pull a few lbs off that I have put on and I am doing pretty good at that.     I know that you won't be sorry if you use him.    He is the greatest in my opinion.

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

Thanks so far for all the replies. I am scheduled for a endoscopy  June 9th at a facility in Decatur. Once this is complete I will meet back with Dr Kim and he said we would decide on the surgery. He did say the band had to come out and then he said he might not decide on which surgery until he gets in there. Something about the amount of scar tissue from the band. I am sure he will discuss it in more detail after the 9th. Melissa at his office put on my paper work tentatively scheduled surgery for July 5. I am hoping that it is that soon. My daughter is getting married
Sept 12th and I would love to be down a few sizes.

I am new on the boards and I am not sure if it is just me or if the site is not user friendly. I am pretty computer savvy but I am having a hard time jumping from one forum to the other. I thought I posted a new topic about REVISION on the REVISION forum but I'm not sure?

Maybe I will get the hang of it...but I am really happy to connect with you all  and get some good feedback - so THANK you Very Much!

Stephanie

Most of us just hang out on the TMB (this board) but you can bookmark the other boards as well for ease in switching from one to another.

I had a revision from a lapband to RNY almost 2 years ago and I'm at goal.  Good luck on yours and keep in touch.

I went to Dr. Kim also. I had Lap Band.

Dr. Kim and his staff are just wonderful. He is very kind and really cares about his patients. He is really big on aftercare, which is very important to your success.

Good luck,
Joanne
