Not much going on in my world.  My part time boss got internet access back, but I have to watch how much I use it.  Gotta keep out of trouble.

Prayer requests are listed below.

I do ask that you keep me updated on requests.  Often.  Please.

Also, please feel free to just visit here.  Tell us about how your day went.  Your successes.  Your failures.  Your fun.  Whatever.  When I post this thread, I do not have access to any chat programs, so this sometimes substitute as that vessel for me.

Continue to keep your thoughts and prayers for the members of our Armed Forces serving around the world, especially during this time of increased awareness.  Please thank God for these men and women every day.  In addition, please keep the wives and family members in your thoughts.

PEOPLE SEEKING EMPLOYMENT:

Avis
James - Phyllis' "friend"
Jennifer
- (Cruise Director Julie)
Nina

Those who are not yet unemployed, but layoffs are looming

Anne -(Lalocaweta) - Please pray for her as she undergoes treatment for a medical problem she is facing.

Cindy Mc - a coworker has a 5 yr old son who was diagnosed at 3 with Metastatic Retinoblastoma.  He lost his right eye, but through chemo and radiation it was thought the cancer was gone.  It is back and spreading in his brain.
There is no cure and they are treating him with some oral Chemo medication right now. I am just asking that you pray for Isaac Xavuer Vasques-Grimmett. He is a precious little boy who has been through a whole lot of difficult times in his 5 short years. We are praying for a miracle but if we can't get that... For God's mercy and grace to keep this precious little boy and his family from suffering too much. Update:  Isaac did not qualify for the program they were attempting to go to at St Jude's.  Please continiue prayers.

Dana - requests prayer for her sister, Renee.  She had tumor on her jaw removed.  Now needs jaw reconstruction on 7/23 - (10 hour surgery scheduled).

Debra - has been put on no work by doctor due to memory loss that is related to recent hospitalization.  Also, with the no work comes less pay.  Prayers for the financial side of the situation.

Gina J. - Pray for her 6 year old Marina, diagnosed with a terminal illness at age 2.
She has improved, but still needs our prayers.  Pray for this brave little girl.

Janet (1divaatheart) says her husband's tumor is shrinking (Praise God!).  Pray for her family as they deal with the passing of her father (5/17).

Karen (Misty750342002) - A friend of Karen's from work (who is like a son to her), Dustin Murphy, is 24 years old and has been diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease.

Prplecat asks prayer for her health battles as well as the family's move to Wichita Falls.

Vicki V.  - husband Patrick continues to have health problems.  Update on Patrick.  His most recent diagnosis from the neurologist is Ataxia and Neuropathy of the left side.  Which basically means he has virtually no feeling in his left leg and foot - probably the results of both a broken femur (more than 30 years ago) and his more recent heart and lung surgeries and the bed confinement from all of those.

Vanessa (Butterfly Reborn) - requests prayer for her family.  There were no specifics, but I am sure the Lord knows.

Vanessa - We have all followed the story of Elizabeth.  Here is her Caringbridge page:

George you can take my family prayer request off.  Everything worked out well, I'm grateful and thankful for everyone that kept us in your prayers.

I'm going to ask that you add my sister, Renee to the prayer list.  I mentioned several weeks ago about the tumor in her jaw.  She had surgery to remove the tumor and the biopsy was done, no cancer but this type of tumor will continue to grow if any cells were not removed.  Renee is having a very intense surgery at MD Anderson on July 23 to remove a portion of her jaw.  Her medical team will be using a portion of her femor (sp?) bone to recreate her jaw.  Of course, we are worried it's an 8-10 hour surgery and 3 days in ICU, BUT I know that God will protect her and guide her doctors, we need to let Him do his thing.

Hi George;

Just a quick fly-by tonight. I spent most of the day helping one of my mom's friends move into a new apartment. This morning before I left, I applied for 5 more jobs. After moving, I went to the dentist, grocery, bank and Sonic for happy hour.

I'm trying really hard to keep my chin up, but it's hard. Tomorrow, I've got an early workout and then lunch with my old boss. There's also 4 jobs that I never got around to applying for today that I'll do tomorrow. And of course, hopefully the Wings will wrap up the conference finals tomorrow night.

Have a good night. Prayers for all who need them.
Blessings, Jennifer

So far, I think you are doing good about the chin up.  Make sure you apply for those jobs first thing tomorrow.  Or at least as soon as you get home from your early workout.

Hey George....
Just finishing up the "mommy" stuff.  My sister-in-law went into labor this afternoon!  First baby for them so things are going VEEEERY slooooow.  Her water broke at 1 pm New Jersey time and when I talked to her at 10 pm, she was still only at 3 cm so they have a long night ahead of them!  She was very upset about needing some Pitocin to get the ball rolling but I told her it was all ok and that stuff is necessary!  She was relieved to know that all three of my girls needed Pitocin to get labor jump started and I didn't need a c-section with any of them.  Actually, once they got it started for ME, I went quick and none of my girls had more than three hours of labor.  V was the quickest at 45 minutes!  YOWZA!  I didn't have the heart to tell my SIL that all my labor experiences were done and over with so quickly!!!  So, there will be a new baby sometime during the day.  They have no idea if it is a boy or girl, either so that's kinda cool for them.

Also got a call from one of the ladies in the church choir that another choir member passed away I believe yesterday afternoon.  Very sad - such a nice lady.  Not sure what happened but she was letting us know family was coming in from all over and they wanted to make sure they all had access to food without having to worry about making stuff.  I emailed her back and let her know whatever she needed, just ask and I'll make whatever it is they want.  She actually wanted cookies as it is easy for grandkids and whoever to just nibble on.  I told her, "absolutely", so I'll be getting that done probably tomorrow or Thursday.  Her funeral isn't until Saturday as they needed to get everyone down here.  The lady was so worried about V when she had her ear issues and had just asked me about how her confirmation class was going.  We know that's a better place, but hard to let friends go, too!

V had a rough day on her new diet.  I think really it's a "detox" effect of not having many carbs or sugars.  She cried for no reason today and that is definitely all "head" related.  Oh how we all know that too well!!!  So mom here has to be at the gym for MY class at 9:00 (well, actually we are supposed to get there early to warm up on the treadmill) and hers will be at 6 pm.  I will let the lady in charge know all the struggles she has had the past two days so when V goes to her class, the lady has some idea of what's going on.

I'd better run.  Neighbors dogs just started barking VERY loudly which generally means something or someone is walking around nearby so I need to go take a peek.  Probably someone out walking, even though it is extremely late!!!

Later...

Prayers for the family of your dear church member.  You are right, it is sad, but it is also joyous as she is in a much better place.

I hope V is successful and does not give up.  She must realize it is not going to change overnight, and that is all too often the expectation we have.  "I dieted for a week and only lost two pounds, forget it."

Hope the boogeyman didn't get you.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Nah, where the neighbor has his huge dog house is right up near his back fence so those dogs hear EVERYTHING.  If someone is walking along the street, those dogs hear it and bark like a son-of-a-gun.  I'm glad because they don't bark for just being spooked (although when one of them sees H walking in her room and her blinds are open, that poor dog just FREAKS OUT seeing the shadow in the room!!!) so usually when they are barking, someone or something is walking along the fence adjacent to the street.  That street is also VERY well let as there is an intersection right there so usually it's no biggy but of course the DOG doesn't know that!!
