1 week post op today!!
Hey gals and guys!!!
I went and got those staples out today!! WWHHOOO!!!! I had lost 6 lbs in a WEEK!!! I know this may not seem like a lot to many on here, but for me this is amazing! With the 1 week pre op liquid diet and the week post op I'm at 261 lbs, when I started at 280. My roommate hadn't seen me in a couple of weeks and she couldn't believe how different my face looked in just 2 weeks, and it got me all excited! Dr. B is letting me start to try mushy foods now and I'm real nervous to try anything. They said I could try some soft scrambled eggs, so I did and I think I had some dumping, but it wasn't bad bad bad.,.. just kinda feeling crappy for about 4 hours, then felt fine. I know I didnt eat too much, but I might have went too fast. I will not try them again for awhile, but will try again sometime! I'm sticking to mashed potatoes, jello, and yogurt for now... and of course my protein and liquids.
I have to keep in mind that I don't have as much to loose as others, so I might not get rid of it as quick as I see people here!!! I feel like I'm doing awesome and just want to keep plugging away!!
Thanks for everyones nice words and support!!! I love you all!!

Forget the eggs !!!! They are the worst and I don't know why they even put them on the list for newbie post-ops. Even vets have trouble with scrambled eggs. I know they are "soft", but they tend to set up like rubber in your pouch.
Congrats on the loss - you are on your way ! Glad you are doing well.

Stacey, eggs for many of us are hard, I still have hit and miss times with them. Boiled eggs I do pretty good with most of the time. If you can eat them, make sure they are soft and not too dry.
Congrats on the weight loss so far. I think you are doing FANTASTIC. Thought I'd through out a couple other foods on mushy......refried beans with low fat cheese it yummy and a good choice early you, also cottage cheese with just about anything from protein powder, cinnamon and sugar, low sugar marinara sauce.
Happy to hear you are doing well, keep on keepn' on.

Fantastic!
Ditto about the eggs. Try yogurt or puree your fave soup......ricotta cheese spiced up with whatever sounds good - I love ricotta with splenda and cinnamon spread on apple slices [but no apple slices for you just yet!] Refried beans from Taco Bell hit the spot for me at that stage too!!

You are doing fantastic! I equate our new tummy to a baby's. You know how you get to give them new stuff, and watch and see how they do on it, it's very similar! Even at 10 months out, I still have that experience. I try something, and go slow about it. I will know pretty quick whether or not its gonna work. It's an adventure for sure. One I would do again if I had the choice to make, for sure!
I had some pills to take that had to be crushed and Dr. T (if you haven't met him yet, you will) told me to mix it with nsa apple sauce. It was a staple for me for a while. Eggs are iffy for me still. SF pudding cups were are my friend too. Ricotta with an egg & parmesian cheese mixed in, topped with LF mozzerella bears a close resemblance to lasagna, with no noodles, and is yumm-O!
Definately went by Taco Bell alot for pintos and cheese. It took me two sittings for awhile to get that down, bonus! Two meals for change!
Keep up your good work! I am excited for you! Knowing your limits, and that everyone's body is different is going to go a long way toward keeping you satisfied with your progress. You are going to stall. It is normal. Don't stress. You are going to lose less weight the closer you get to your body's normal. You seem to have a great attitude, and that will serve you well in the coming months! Take lots of pics, and measure! It's a great motivator, especially during stalls.
Blessings,
Jenn

I am glad you are doing so well!!!
I am over a year out and still NO EGGS for me! I try them every once in a while and they come right back up! I started with refried beans (taco bell), mashed potatoes and sf jello. Just take your time eating, your stomach will tell you what to do......lol!!
